Great sander
I just finished a job with it, used with my dustless system. Fantastic sander, used Matabo sandpaper with it and bought the attachment for a dust extractor. It worked great, the Velcro bottom is really strong with the sandpaper, it seems nice and powerful enough, very ergonomic to hold, got into areas my other sanders couldn’t. It German engineering which is always good. I know other decorators that have used Metabo sanders for years and they’re still going strong. Great value for money, professional tool so worth giving it a try.

Good solid unit
Bought as I don’t like buying cheap rubbish and I have had metabo angle grinders before which lasted years with daily use. Expect the same from this. It’s well built and comes with its own cary case. No issues so far. Only slight issue is the dust catcher can come loose with the vibrations, but can be taped on easily.

Weighty but decent for the price.
Quite weighty, but a little beast in the corners. Dust bag not up to much so got the extra hose connector for hoover/dust extractor.

The sander is good and relatively quiet
The sander is good and relatively quiet. Ordered it through Amazon Prime and it was delivered next day, but it had a faulty on off switch. It then took 10 days for a replacement. Had to do the decorating with my trusty Lidle model. What I really hate about this sander is the dust extraction. If you want to sand down into the corners of vertical surfaces, the dust falls forward blowing the dust out, and the collection cartridge falls of very easily. Metabo recognise that the sander cartridge supplied is useless on fillers, and recommend the use of a vacuum, attached via an optional vacuum adaptor. The vacuum adaptor was not listed on Amazon, so after hunting one down, ordered one at £8.99, and a 3 day wait for delivery. The sander comes with a miserly 2m power lead so that a trailing extension lead is essential, and means that the plug catches on every obstruction possibl, the vacuum attachment is very large and cumbersome for a detail sander. It is far bigger than the outlet for my industrial belt sander. Not including a 3 metre lead or vacuum adaptor or any sample sanding sheets is just mean, and I would be very reluctant to buy another Metabo power tool. If you want a sander for DIY buy a Draper or Aldi model or similat. If you are using it for trade, pay a bit more and get a variable speed Festool. Wanted to give this sander one star, but this would be unfair as mechanically it works well when attached to a vacuum

Super sander. Bought this to replace a worn sander
Super sander. Bought this to replace a worn sander. The difference is remarkable. Quieter & less vibration than expected. The dust filter is a very nice touch.I would definitely recommend this tool

Good but ....
I like the sander, but I doubt it will be get an awful lot of use for the following reasonMy biggest gripe is the dust extraction, or lack of it !!! The supplied cartridge thing is pretty useless to be honest and you cannot connect a dust extractor to it nor can you buy an adaptor to allow you to connect to a dust extractor therefore not really much use for internal works unless you want a layer of fine dust everywhere when you've finished, a real shame which ultimately lets down a pretty nice sanderMine will be limited to outside use only sadly or possibly might return it as its not really that useful without dust extraction
