Humorous, witty, & vivid-- a pleasure to read

I found this book to have a good balance of humor, entertainment, and truly vibrant descriptions. I'm a VERY picky reader, but Caspar Greeff's wit and wry humor caught my attention from the very beginning, and I was hooked! He has a kind of style that is effortless to read-- it moves along at a nice pace, it's peppered with funny (sometimes a bit dirty!) anecdotes, and ultimately makes one desire to follow his journey into the world of Ayahuasca. He also includes names of other books (that deal with shamans and the Amazon) within his writing, and the names of all the many shamans, or Ayahuasqueros/Curanderos/Maestros/Bancos, that he had ceremonies with, which is very helpful for those who are searching for more information about Ayahuasca and/or the right shaman to do a ceremony with.I hope he writes another book soon, I would definitely read it!

Pure honest revealations!

This is the book which will make you keep reading and wanting more. Perfectly combined with humor and seriousness with well balanced approach. I have been actually there in "Refugio Altiplano" where author lived in his journeys and he has explained the Scott's character the Shaman perfectly well. There are well wishers in Refugio Altiplano that I met knew Caspar & lived with Caspar. He is very well-known figure over there. Kudos Caspar, I loved your book and I can very well co-relate my trips/experiences with what you tried illustrating!Must READ!

Entertaining and somewhat informative

A rousing travel tale, breezily written, with some insight into shamanism and plant medicines, particularly ayahuasca and San Pedro. The author certainly seems to enjoy life. I was hoping for something a little more substantive in the spiritual insights department; what did all these different drug trips mean for him, ultimately?

interesting and informative

I liked this a lot. It was very similar to Aya Awakenings in many ways, but the second half became more unique. It seems the Shamans use the same spiel. So it was recognisable in that sense.

Must be read

The author did a superb job explainning the subject and his adventures around the world. This is part of my bookshelf and it's a keeper. I have read other books on the subject but this one is my favorite so far!
