Burg-Wächter Ground Anchor

I bought this item to accompany the security chain that I bought at the same time. Both are now in use securing my bikes in the home. Seems like a great product. Very strong.

I had no problems installing this as per the video instructions on the product page. Used an SDS 10mm drill bit to make the pilot hole and a 16mm for the main hole. The bolts went in the hole with no problems - I handled them delicately but did not experience any of the problems some reviewers describe. I tapped them in with a rubber mallet to get them flush. Whole process took 15 - 20 mins and I was taking my time with it. It appears to be a very heavy duty item, and while I have not doubt that a thief with professional tools would get through this if given the time, but the reality is that the effort required would be prohibitive and that they would look for easier pickings elsewhere. Sold Secured diamond so the insurance is all valid anyway. Great price in comparison to other products too.

Substantial enough, pretty easy to fit. However, as already mentioned, this is not ‘Sold Secure’ as advertised. No Sold Secure branding and is not listed as approved product on their site.

Needed an 'immovable' object to put in the shed for my e-bike. This does the job! Easy to put in and comes with the little ball bearings so you cant unscrew it once fitted.

Hard to tell the exact size from the stock photos but it's bigger then you think. If you have the tools to drill an 18mm hole in concrete you'll be able to fit this. My only slight concern is that the eye is so big that if not positioned properly a scumbag could maybe get a bar into it and lever it up. Clever placement between wall and bike should prevent this. Ultimately one piece of security will not guarantee the safety of your machine but definitely a good addition to the system. Good enough value. I'm happy.

Plutôt simple a fixer, cet ancrage a l'air très solide. J'y attache ma trottinette avec une chaine et un cadenas. Je conseil vivement cet article de qualité.

Nachdem ich knappe 30 Minuten am ersten Stirling-Anker herumgebastelt und dabei die mitgelieferten Dübel zerlegt und wieder kunstvoll zusammengesetzt hatte, war ich geneigt, dem Stirling-Anker 3 Punkte in seiner Rezension zu geben und mir das ungleich teurere Konkurrenzprodukt mit dem Aufdruck „Made in Germany“ zu bestellen. Tatsächlich aber wäre das nicht gerechtfertigt, sind doch die Probleme beim Einbau allein auf meine beschränkten handwerklichen Fähigkeiten und gleichzeitig mein rudimentäres Englisch zurückzuführen. Daher mein Tipp: Vergesst die Instruktion. Hier die Anleitung in Kurzform – auspacken, Schraube rausdrehen, 16er Loch bohren, Dübel so wie sie sind mit dem Hammer in die Wand ballern, Anker festschrauben, bis es knirscht. Fertig. Das eigentliche Teil macht einen massiven Eindruck, mag sein, dass die doppelt so teuren Anker einem Diebstahlversuch länger trotzen. Schweres Gerät bräuchte der Dieb in jedem Fall, zumal das Herausschrauben der Sechskantinnenschrauben ja mit den kleinen Stahlkugeln im Kopf erschwert wird. Die Statistik sagt, dass der größte Teil der Zweiraddiebstähle spontan erfolgt und von der Unaufmerksamkeit der Zweiradbesitzer profitiert. Gegen einen Langfinger mit Flex und Schweißbrenner im Rucksack wird auch der Stirling-Anker wenig bewirken. Für alle anderen bedeutet er aber einen Mehraufwand, der im Zweifel doch abschreckend wirkt. Schließlich positiv: Der Querschnitt des Stirling-Ankers ist so groß, dass er auch schwere Ketten aufnimmt. Fazit: 5 Punkte.
