I wouldn't try a drop test with it or anything like that. But I took it out with me on a field training exercise where it was left in a duffle in the back of a humvee in the middle of a dustbowl. It kept the sand out. But if you are just transporting it between home and work and are putting it in a backpack, it works just fine.
