Excellent portable deck
I wanted a smaller version of the Rider Waite deck for a couple of reasons. One, I like to be able to carry my cards around with me and two, having fairly small hands, I find it hard to shuffle the larger decks. This size is perfect for me, small enough to be portable and easy to shuffle, yet large enough for the images on the cards to be clearly visible in all their detail.I know not everyone likes the Rider Waite tarot but I do, it is one of the decks that 'speaks' to me and one that I find myself going back to on a regular basis. I think it's an excellent starter deck if you are looking to learn tarot but do, please, invest in a good guide to the tarot and don't just rely on the (actually quite detailed) little booklet inserted in the box along with the deck. My advice would be to take your time, read reviews and then choose the book which you think will suit your needs best.I don't think you can go wrong with this deck as a starter as many others are based on or have been inspired by it, and quite a lot of the books seem to use it as a basis too.

Great cards
I first of all congratulate Amazon and the delivery service for getting these to me 5 days before the original estimated delivery date despite 2 x 24 hr postal strikes.I have decided to return to the Tarot after a break and bought a book to renew and reinforce my understanding. The book used this pack (with another) as part of the "course" so I sent for this pack and a pack of my favourite Marseilles.I have to admit it is not my favourite pack for actual readings but that is personal preference.I did have a larger sized pack of these but the cards were too big for comfortable shuffling - yet I don't have small hands. This pack is a perfect size to handle. The cards are 3 inches high x one and three quarter inches wide. They have a nice shiny surface so slide easily over each other. They are coloured the same as my previous pack so the printing is ok.Lots of beginners like these because almost all the cards have descriptive pictures.Someone else has said in a review that they are handbag sized. He/She were right. I have not laid them out on a table yet but they will make the larger spreads fit a smaller space. Common sense really.Thank you.

Could package better
I love these mini decks. Quick delivery and cards are good. Only issue is I think they should of been packed in a box as the delivery guy put them through the letterbox as they were in a bubble envelope and the box got a little squashed.

The perfect travel size deck
This deck is lovely, dispite its size it hasn't lost any of the detail and the images and cards themselves are of great quility. The booklet contains all of the same information as the one that comes with standard decks and it is perfectly readable. I have shown a picture of one of the cards from this deck against a standard deck card and another in my palm to give some perspective on the size. Being light and portable I can see me using them more than my standard deck just for the fact that they are easy to pick up and place with little space needed. A great gift too!

Waite's Tarot
Neat set of Waite's tarot cards, miniature size but still very clearly printed.Arthur Edward Waite was the intellect behind these cards and I consider them 'his' for that reason. Pamela Colman Smith drew them but had no other input, despite the attempts by some to give her most of the credit. Indeed, the 'cult which is being promoted around her is both unjustified and unhealthy.A E Waite may well turn out to be one of Englan'd greatest mystics - look at his other works, which include extensive writings on the occult and thoughtful mystical poetry. You might start with his autobiography 'Shadows of Life and Thought'. His sometimes difficult use of English is something to be appreciated, as a previous reviewer has noted.

Nice and practical
I have used the mini deck for years, because I have small hands and they take up less room when you do a larger spread, such as the Celtic Cross. The classic Rider Waite is still my favourite deck for complex psychological questions. Both arcana are illustrated, making it easy even for the beginner to get a feel for the meaning of the cards. The imagery is nice and clear, and not flashy so it helps rather than distract from divining work. I like the 1920s interpretation of medieval times by the illustrator, Pamela Colman Smith, a gifted but tragically underestimated woman in her time. This mini deck is of a nice quality, the cards aren't cheaply produced, sturdy enough and not too slippery. Very nice.Wendy Gillissen, author of award-winning spiritual adventure Curse of the Tahira

Good deck
I already had the full size Waite deck, but my hands are small so shuffling them is awkward. I recently came across Tarot Magick and thought a smaller deck would be better. It's not my favourite deck, but as the system of Tarot Magick uses the Golden Dawn, and the Waite deck is heavily influenced by the GD, I felt that this would be the perfect deck. The LWB is useful for a basic interpretation of the card. The colours are vibrant. Overall, a good deck to have.

I love these!
These amazing tiny cards never leave my handbag... they are so useful and light and easy to carry that I've found myself doing impromptu readings for people even when I'm out. As a professional psychic the size of these little cards makes for those unexpected readings quite easy. I could have never lugged around all the other decks I've got. In fact I think ALL cards should come in this size!!! I'd buy them all!!
