Does it work in reverse, to connect multiple computers to one monitor, one at a time, rather than having to switch the cable from PC to PC?
Is this MST usable with displayPort output and hdmi input? Will I benefit of extended desktop?
I want to be able to use two monitors independently, ie. move the picture from one to another, will this work? also, any reported issues with sli?
Can this be used for gaming consistently on 3 monitors at 75Hz plus?

instantly drive three monitors from one displayport socket

Brilliant device. Turned a single displayport connector on the back of the PC into three separate monitors. In my case two of the monitors are Full HD and a third is only 1280x720, and it all works fine. Windows immediately recognises three separate displays just as if the PC had three outputs directly on the back. I use a cheap Displayport->HDMI adaptor on one of the outputs and that works fine too. Worth mentioning that the device needs power, and it comes with a multi-country adaptor in the box for that, but you will need a spare mains socket near the PC for it - without the power none of the extra outputs work.

Works as advertised

Worked straight out of the box with no issues with my HP Book G2 ultrabook supporting 2 26" Asus full HD monitors - resolution is great and I don't have any screen problems. I only wanted two monitors when I purchased it but now I have the capability I'm considering adding another.Used daily in my home office for 2D autocad, office, email and occasional 3D modelling.I'm powering it from the supplied power brick and not USB as some users seem to be doing

Good service, problems with product design

Firstly, I have just been on an online webchat with David from customer service and he was superb. Unfortunately couldn't resolve the issues but tried everything. Noteworthy good customer service.I have had this a week now and had a few issues I would like to share to help others.1. When my PC resumes from sleep, all the monitors do not always fire up. They are all manually set to the correct input, not auto. The workaround is to press the scan button on the hub, then everything works fine within a second or two. The issue is the location of the hub behind my desktop under the table as many other peoples will be. Not convenient. If you are happy doing this then I found the hub worked fine with my three 1080p monitors.2. So I tried a 3rd party 2m DP male-female extension lead between the PC and the hub, so that I could have the hub on the desk with the scan button accessible. In no configuration does this work; 3 monitors, 2 monitors or 1 monitor. Since it doesn't work with one I don't think it is an attenuation/bandwidth issue with the extension lead. Using the extension lead between the monitor and the hub, however, works fine!TLDR; You have to press the scan button every time the PC wakes from sleep and you can't use a DP extension cable between the PC and the hub.

Almost perfect

I needed this as I'm currently running 5 monitors off my graphics card. I picked this one as I'd read mixed reviews on all the others. So far my experience is that it's very good but with 1 annoyingly flaw. Occasionally (maybe once every 2 weeks) it stops recognising the 3rd monitor and the only fix is to turn everything off from the mains and then turn it back on. I've tried different sockets and even at a friends house but the problem persists. Googling the problem indicated that this is one of those problems that no one reliably solved.

Couldn't get it to work

Sadly it wouldn't work for me. My computer simply would not detect my monitors when connected via the adapter. Tried the tips on StarTech website and searching online. Gave up in the end and returned it. Maybe some issue with my set up.

It doesn’t split if the card it plugged into can’t handle additional outputs

Didn’t do what I needed it to. It won’t increase the display you have it the graphics card you have isn’t able to handle them.

Done it's job wonderfully. Turned out I didn't actually need it

Done it's job wonderfully. Turned out I didn't actually need it, so returned it. Within the return period. Just needed to update my graphics drivers to allow multiple screens.
