This is the best shade grass I’ve ever bought. We have lots of trees in our backyard and we’re able to keep the grass nice and green and growing. We had years of patchy grass until I found this shade grass seed, highly recommend.

Fast shipping and they even write me a personal thank you. The seeds started growing after just a couple days. It hasn’t fully come in yet, but it’s looking great. The size of the bag was perfect for my project.

Grass grew in patchy at first but now is very lush and has a nice feel on bare feet. Got this to completely re seed our front yard (specificallyshadrd areas under trees, along with some other products. As long as you prep the soil well, rake it and level it, remove all debris and use a spreader for even coverage. The other thing of paramount importance is consistency with watering in the first few days and weeks. If its at all possible for you to create proper drainage for heavy rainfall or add some kind of barrier around the yard incase it pours down so you don't lose all your seed and topsoil. Honestly whatever sq ft coverage bag says its a good idea to grab a 2nd bag for spot treating later on. Avoid using insecticides and weed killers or even string fertilizer for a good 3 months after you lay down the seed.

Planted in early March, the grass shown is after 6 weeks and one cut. I will update after the 100-degree-plus summer heat here in Central Texas to show if it survives.

I figured that shade grass would grow slower and boy is it ever. The part that is growing best is the part that is in direct sun for part of the day. There we have seen grass grow to about 4" high in 8-10 weeks. The part that is in shade almost entirely during the day is showing no grass at all (and it's still bright there - just no direct sun). I will continue to experiment with ground cover until I find something that works in between the fence and the house. I dont think this stuff is it though.I will say this - the grass that has sprouted and started to grow in the more sunny areas is fine, dark green, and looks great. Now if it only decided to organize itself into a whole lawn, we'd have something...

I put these seeds out 3 days after I received them and none of them have produced a blade od grass

This stuff works great in shady areas! Needs lots of water to get started and will die off it gets too much sun, otherwise - works great!! Big fan!
