Very enjoyable
This is a surprisingly enjoyable game. Played it with older parents at Xmas and even my father - who isn't fond of board games - enjoyed this one. The rules and game itself are quite simple, but like all really good board games, complexity is not a necessity. It IS necessary however to change one of the rules, as other reviewers have already noted - the one about having to throw the exact number to land on one of your destinations! The game soon grinds to a halt , otherwise. My one gripe is about the size of the board. The playing pieces have to be used to point to your position, rather than sit on it, because the board is so small there is little room for the playing pieces. And being a small board, locations aren't always easy to see, roads are very close together, and you need a small table to play it on. Apart from that, though, really recommend it.

Nice game BUT
Nice easy to play game but like other folk have said you need to omit the roll correct number to land on city. Also like others have said the game board is far too small as are the playing cards.Had the board been twice or even three times the size and the cards the normal size you would expect, then I would have given 5 starsGood idea for a game simple basic great fun but needs work....

Good, but could be better
My OH & I have enjoyed playing this game over our Christmas holiday. The concept and board are well thought out, the aim of the game - to move around England (& Wales) visiting certain towns and cities before getting back to your starting point first works well. The dissapointing aspect was the 'information' given on the cards about each main town/city. There seems to be a rather large selection of cities which only have the sentence 'A Cathederal City' attached to them. There is very little educational value in these pieces of information. My OH & I have started to create a list of more useful pieces of information about these places, using information from the Internet. However this is all up to date information and we were hoping for the game to include more information from 1930's England.Overall, a great game to play, but some aspects could be improved.

Lovely product, slightly tedious rules
The look of this game is superb. I don't really want to be mean about such a nice product but as a game, it is not for everyone. The problem is that the rules make it slightly tedious if you are hoping for a fun, quickish game. The fun elements can go relatively quickly and then a couple of hours will be spent relying on the roll of the die. With four people we introduced a second die to speed up the gameplay. I don't really want to criticise this but as a present, it may only be played by some people once.

Being a good game is important
Bit smaller than I thought I will play it over the weekend

Great fun
Played this game with players ranging from their 70's down to the youngest aged 6 (who did admittedly need a hand sorting out a route) and everyone had a very entertaining time playing it. Much hilarity, especially navigating ferry crossings and rolling the exact number needed to reach towns, players missing out towns on their route and having to do long detours, but all added to the enjoyment. The only criticism I can make is that that the cars & board are fiddly, especially if more than 1 player on the same route, but definitely recommend this game for all ages and abilities.

Fun game, mainly for England’s sake
Not the greatest game I’ve played however I’m interested in English culture and the past. And interesting to see the places of importance on the 1930s map! Such as Brough in Cumbria close to where I live. A place of 1,000 people yet it’s on the game!
