The Complete Ritchie Valens - Donna, La Bamba And The Original 3 Albums ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED

I just got this CD and, looking at the liner notes, found one terrible glaring error that shows lack of research. I get fed up with all the misinformation about the Last Tour and the Day the Music Died. The liner notes claim that Ritchie Valens died in Wisconsin (Someone needs to look at a map of the US). The plane crashed in a farm field in CERRO GORDO COUNTY, IOWA. They were to fly from Mason City, Iowa, to Fargo, North Dakota. If the flight had successful, it would have been over the states of Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota, nowhere near Wisconsin. To find out the truth about the plane crash go to the US National Transportation Safety Board website (ntsb.gov). In the search area, put in "February 3, 1959". This will bring up the Civil Aeronautics Board Aircraft Accident Report about the crash.

This appears to be Ritchie Valens’ complete songs recorded. An amazing talent who died while still a teen and before he ever realized his true potential. Looking past the poor recordings, it is easy to see the tremendous breadth of talent he possessed. It is too bad somebody could not engineer a cleaner reproduction of the early recordings.

Valens is extraordinary. I would have been better off with a greatest hits. There's a lot of lesser material on this collection, it's OK but not great like his hits. Sound quality is good.

Obviously a remastered version of original works will not be the same quality as original modern works. That said this is a great compendium of Valens songs in vintage sound of the era. Still music to my ears, which are, .....well....vintage anyway.

Wow what a voice. The Complete Ritchie Valens Original is a great CD. I would recommend it to family and friends. It brings me back to the young years in my life.

A must have collection for every Valens fan, featuring all of his great tunes.......an artist who sadly had his career cut short by the tragic airplane accident which took his life. One wonders just how much farther he could have gone.

This has got to be the best single cd of Ritchie Valens around now with the accurate title "The Complete". This is about as complete as it gets for Ritchie on 1 disc with the 2 albums, a live "on the spot" recording at a Jr. High posthumously released after his untimely death and to top it off Unfinished demos. Ritchie was such a great rocker and performer at the young age of 16/17 and by listening to tracks 1 to 23 which cover his 2 albums I wonder what it would have been for him had he lived or survived the plane crash of Feburary 1959. It sounds as if it was going so well for him. But the Jr High performance was an interesting listen because it is the only live performance that's exists although the source that was used isn't all that excellent as explained by Bob Keane who reveals all about this "on the spot" recording.The Unfinished demos is really worth a listen because you can really hear how Ritchie played his guitar and experimenting different kinds of rhythm etc. But what was new to me was that I did not know that "Malaguena" (Track 33) was a demo unfinished where it appears on some of my other Ritchie best ofs but not mentioning about it being a incomplete demo. Bob Keane introduces each track with a explanation behind the recording and the idea of it etc. This CD is crammed full of Ritchie's work with a running time of just under 80 mins (79min 58sec). If you wish to hear just his greatest hits or aquire a smaller collection I would recommend Music Club's 1995 release "The very best of" which has 22 tracks & great sound mastering.Or for a larger collection I'd recommend this! Hats off to Jasmine Records for producing a ultimate & definitive collection of Ritchie Valens' work.

I bought this for an avid fan and he absolutely loves it. Great selection of well known songs plus extras.

This is a superb CD which has all of Richie Valens recorded songs on it. It underlines what a sad loss the premature death of Richie Valens was
