We didn't think it was going to work at first because it's a lot smaller than the original one but we put it in and it works amazing we've had the boat out over a couple dozen times runs better than what it did before and it was a lot lighter than the first one and easier to install I would recommend this product to anybody the only problem is it didn't come with the bolts as shown but that was no big deal because bolts are cheap

Purchased this starter for my 92 Sunbird with a 3.0 OMC Cobra. Bolted up and wired just like the original. The only difference is this unit is about half the size of the original. Cranks the motor over twice as fast as the stock starter. I could barely let go of the key fast enough the first time I tried it, as the motor was running that fast. I can't really comment on longevity, but so far so good. Have been out on the lake several time since installing and have had no issues. Lots of starts from towing kids around. Very happy with product and at about 1/3 the price of OEM you can't beat it.

This starter is a good product for the money, it replace the original starter for a Volvo Penta 1986 AQ225E and cranked the engine with plenty of power for the size. This was an easy install, but the bolts are slightly longer. I fixed this by adding 3 to 4 washers and the gasket was not used because this would not fit. The original starter is about 3 times the size and weight of this replacement one. I will see how long it last, but so far no issues. I will probably purchase another one to keep for a spare just it case it fails, but at this price I can afford 3 to 4 of them compare to OEM.

This starter is junk. Lasted about a week. The warranty is aweful. You have to pay to ship it back then wait a couple weeks for them to see if it is a quality issue. If they decide to provide you with another one you have to pay shipping to have it sent.

Fit my 1998 bayliner 1950 Capri with a 3.0 mercruser perfectly. Product description did not say it was for a 3.0 but I checked the oem part numbers and it matched up. Installed this starter and it works perfectly. Have not brought it out on water yet but works 10 times better then original starter as I tested it with muffs on my outdrive. I am writing this review because I was not sure it would fit a 3.0 mercruser 1998. Some say that it was smaller then thier stock starter but as you can see by my picture it was the exact same size. Hope it holds up being it is an after market unit. So far so good. If it goes bad I will let you know

I bought this to replace a starter that came on a donor engine. It does have 11 teeth and mine had 9, but I read reviews that said it worked fine. It works great and starts my engine quick. I have a 94 mercruiser 3.0 engine.

Boat starter. No issues. Been in use for 6 months now. Cost was great compared to some others. It gets used every weekend several times a day.

Starter works great but didn't include gasket

Installed on 1984 mercruiser 3.0 140hp. It’s half the size of my original mercruiser starter but it fit nicely and works just as well.

Started the engin only once and then it died , I guess it’s the risk one takes when you buy a cheap starter .
