How do you clean the makeup brushes?

Wet the brushes and rub them on the Solid Soap provided and then gently bounce or swirl the brushes on the silicone pad against the bumps. Finally rinse the brushes and leave to dry naturally

No not really. Better off with soap and water.

Does the sponge need to be wet to remove product?

No, it doesn't. At some point you will need to clean it by washing it but to clean your brushes while putting on make up, you should use it dry, otherwise your brushes would get wet. Love the product, would recommend.
