Lamp
My husband uses this at his lathe. The light is bright, and it is flexible. It could have used a heavier magnet. It works well for the money.

Bright, good light
These are great lights! The only way in which it could be improved (perhaps) is if it had some sort of non-skid surface (rubber, neoprene, etc.). When placed on the side of a tool (like a drill press, or band saw), it tends to pivot a little bit. It's not really an issue for use, but you may have to move it back if it's bumped.

Good light if used properly
Good solid light, plenty bright enough for turning and stays in place of mounted on properly thick steel

Great lighting for shop tools
This is a versatile light. Has good overall flood style lighting. Magnet power is sufficient to hold lamp in place during tool operation and the gooseneck moves and stays in place well. I’ve been using this for 3 months with no issues.

Bright and universal!
Purchased a few of these for work. The magnet base holds strong and the light is bright. I have two of these being used as “floaters” that travel from machines as needed and they have held up well with no issues.

Waste of my money
I would value this at $20 maximum. The neck doesn't stay where i put it. Very disappointing.

It works and makes turning projects much easier
First off - this product works. It attaches to the lathe and is flexible enough to point the light where it is needed. I can't ask for much more and really this was all I need it for anyway. BUT, there are some issues. The base holds well and I haven't had a single issue of it falling while the lathe is in operation, but it feels like it could be stronger. I worry about excessive vibration causing it to fall. Next, the light isn't as bright as I was hoping. It's MUCH better than what I had before (nothing), but I find myself trying to move the light closer to the project for better lighting. Which brings me to issue #3 - you have to be careful how you twist/turn the flexible neck. If you move it in the wrong direction the light will start to unwind from the base and all support is lost. I've added a little loctite which should help, but it's a concern. For almost $70 I expected a little more. I'd buy one at $40 all day long (and likely would get 2 to further reduce shadows), but at $70/1 it's expensive.

I have two of these lights. I installed one on my drill press using the 110V plug-in. I attached the second onto my 220V band saw. I simply connected the wires directly to the switch. The lights do run on 110V or 220V right out of the box. They are heavy duty and provide a wide, bright, diffuse light which perfectly illuminates the works surfaces. There is no flicker when the machines is running and the flexible arm does not sag while in use. It comes with a mounting bracket and screws. I mounted the L-shaped bracket by drilling two small holes on the upper case of each machine and bolted the bracket in place. The lights have rocker type switchs which, so far, have been durable. I bought the first light over a year ago. Both lights have worked good with no issues. I will be adding more of these lights to other stationary equipment in my shop. Updated Feb 2026. BRD

Great for sewing although I'd prefer the arm be longer.
