For anyone looking for a great swing dance instruction
For anyone looking for a great swing dance instruction, this series is the best.... I have bought lots or swing dance DVD's and courses and most are mediocre at best. This DVD series is exceptional, as a swing dancer of 12 years and a former troop member I believe this is the best instruction for anyone starting out or wants to fine tune their dancing.... every move is broken down and thoroughly explained with lots of angles. So many new moves to learn that I have seen in competition videos but didn't know how to do....WOW Hats off to Dan Newsome!

Good for nearly everyone!
I bought this video after purchasing Volume 1. My husband and I went through Volume 1 rather quickly and decided the Lindy Hop wasn't really what we wanted to learn. The Charleston is actually what we had wanted to begin with. This video gives distinct step by step directions on how to do the dance steps. I recommend it for dancers of any ability. We learned the Charleston steps in just 3 nights in time for a party!

Not what I thought it would be.

You get your money's worth!
With over three hours, one definitely get's their money's worth. Since I knew a few of the routines or knew similar steps, I thought they did a good job teaching them. I look forward to actually getting down learning the other ones.My only complaint is that Daniel seems so serious in all his videos(I have others) - he doesn't smile much. However, if given a choice between smiling and teaching, I'll take his teaching.And I hope that he come out with more videos!This video definitely met expectations. The only reason that I don't rate it higher is that no video will replace the quality (emphasis on the quality) and knowledge instruction of a good teacher (I'm a stickler for finding an instructor that can give you feedback). But in the absence of a quality instructor, this video is great!

Charleston Vocab! Aw yeh.
Well, as someone who lives out where little Charleston is taught, I found this instructional video rather wonderful. Daniel Newsome and Giselle Anguizola blast you with a large amount of vocab. in a short period of time. Using this, I've been able to infuse more and more Charleston into the scene I'm a part of. So, if you're wanting to add Charleston vocab. to you Lindy Hop repertoire, this dvd is perfect for ya.

I'm not a totally beginner, taken some classes over the last 2 years or so, thought i was progressing fairly well. Then I decided to get this series (1, 2 & 3 vids total) and it totally took me to the next level. The instruction is solid, easy to grasp and follow, and now my dance repertoire has expanded very quickly! I'm excited to get out and show off the moves I learned. I loved the focus on the Charleston in video 2, and all the advanced moves in video 3 really brought my swing to electric level. Highly recommend for dancing beginners to advanced. Amazing wealth of knowledge in this series. Great bang for my buck.
