I bought this for a quiet activity or a car toy. I love that it is wooden instead of cardboard it makes it so my toddler can lace it and my baby can play with the holes. My kids love the fun shapes. I love how durable they are.

The wood shapes are nicely made. They're sturdy, light, colorful, and a good size for little people to hold/manage. The only issue we see is the way the string is attach to the wood threading needle, and end ball. It's not scured well (at all), and will most likely come off fairly quickly(see picture) The picture is straight out of the packaging. We are considering returning them, or we may try to better scure them.If this wasn't a concern, it would be a 5 star product.

These are a good concept and I love the design. However, the lacing strings come part quickly -- some within one hour of normal use. The wooden dowl and the wooden ball are not securely attached to the string. The string is just barely inserted into the dowl or ball, and a slight tug disconnects the string (these were not being used incorrectly or roughly, just normal preschool/early elementary hands). For the cost, I definitely would not buy again. Also, they use the word toddler in the title -- do not give to young toddlers! These are a choking hazard when they come part. Also, beware around animals - don't let your pup get hold of these.That said, all is not lost -- the wooden shapes seem to be very good quality - smooth, well painted, durable. I will continue to use the shapes with regular lacing strings -- the colorful kind you can buy 24 for $5, which don't have the wooden parts, and simply tie one end to the shape and let the children lace and weave that way.
