Mrs J Rules self help Maths
A good little reference book for children dealing with the very basics, such as how to add, subtract, multiply fractions, how ratios work, how to do long multiplication by 2 different methods, how to do short and long division. It gives names to shapes and the number of sides different polygons have. The information is presentated in a clear and understandable format for children, being in quite large type and well spaced on the page, therefore easy to read at a glance. It does not state the age group it aims at, so I might hesitate to suggest between 7 and 12 years if this helps.

Makes Maths fun and easy
Mrs J’s books are easy to use and beautifully set out. While Maths can seem daunting to some children, Mrs J has a knack of presenting it in a fun and accessible way. Clear diagrams demonstrate the meanings of concepts such as ‘perimeter, ‘area’ and volume’. Other topics include ratio, percentages, fractions and decimals. This is a book which can be worked through on its own, or dipped into while completing maths exercises or practice papers. Either way, it is an essential tool box for children and their parents. When teaching maths to my tutees, I always have it to hand!

Quick, simple, concise guide to most everyday math problems/questions.
Great book. A5 in size and 80 pages long. The type is large for the most poor of sight. It covers per page individual subjects like long division, multiplying fractions, what terms are, types of shapes, decimals, percentages and most basic math problems. It's a great reference book that I will certainly use myself when my daughters come up against maths problems for the first or hundreth time. I've reacquainted myself with several things I'd forgotten from school too.

Simple and helpful
I love this book. It clearly sets out rules of maths and gives you very simple methods for doing things that I remember being much harder when I was learning maths at school... It also gives you maths facts that are interesting and helpful. It's not cluttered and if I ever forget how to multiply fractions or things, I can just have a quick check to remind myself.

An essential for every youngster.
I have been teaching for almost 30 years, maths is my main subject but I also cover all of the 11+ topics. I give every student a copy of Mrs J's books. They are brilliant for quickly checking a fact or meaning. If your child can't remember what type of word an adjective is, they can find out from Mrs J Rocks.
