How do you get it to play for 30 seconds?

There is a plastic pull tab on the back of the doll that may have gotten lodged in after unboxing. Right next to the battery compartment and speaker, there is an opening that has the plastic tab. Try looking closer to see if it is still in there, and if it is, use tweezers or pliers to remove the tab like I did in the video. That will get the doll out of try-me mode and she will play the full song.

Can it be put in water?

NO. It has a speaker, battery and electric parts so it can sing.

There is a plastic tag on the back by the battery. Taking out that plastic piece allows her to play the full clip. :) I wondered the same thing!

The doll doesn't sing the full song

We bought the Elza doll from a shop before and thought to add this Anna from amazon but this doll is defective. The elza is singing the full song while this one is only saying 6 words before stopping. Our daughter has a broken birhtday gift now...
