However, that sounds like a problem tap. This stuff is really for joints: I used it when replacing a pop-up sink plug mechanism and it did the job beautifully. However, it needs to be 'invisible' as it is an obvious beige colour. **Q: Can this be used to go around a bath top? I have a shower over bath and due my weight usual sealants tend to be too rigid and come away from the tiles** A: You cant use Plumbers Mait for this as it is not flexible and only use this for sealing waste fittings on sanitaryware. I knew I needed some Plumbers Mait to sort but alas the local DIY Chain did not have it in stick and I didn't fancy a 12 mile trip to the next store so picked some of this up on Amazon. The Good - It's super easy to stick into any gaps, splodge a couple of finger fulls onto the offending part and rub it all over. It doesn't leave a massive amount of residue on your hands and what is left is easy to clean off. Once in place it's just a super little fix. It feels like a cheat it's so good. I popped some onto the pan and pipe, joined them up and that was that. Job done. River halted, smell dissapated. Happy toilet times. The could be better - The lid for the tub could have a slightly better seal, when I came to use it again for another job the tub had gone off a little making it less easy to apply. It could well have been me not really putting the lid back on too so it's not a major issue and it's still effective. Overall this is a Plumbing essential and for its many different applications it's really worth having a tub on hand rather than waiting for a leak or issue. Buy a pot, it really is your mate! Recommended.
