VANGREE 8 IN 1 MULTIPORT USB C HUBThe only way I can make this hub work some of the time is if, (with computer ON):1. I plug the hub in first with nothing attached to it,2. Connect 1st USB-A Western Digital external drive,3. Connect 2nd USB-A Western Digital external drive,5. Connect USB-A Microsoft Track Ball,4. Connect 3rd USB-C Western Digital external drive,6. Connect USB-C Headset,7. USB-C card reader,8. And last, connect the power supply.If I reset the computer for any reason, I have to disconnect everything and start the above connection sequence again, otherwise the external hard drives do not work. If I go from the computer being off to on, I have to start the above connection sequence again. If I disconnect the power supply and reconnect, I have to start the above connection sequence again, (I have tried a 45W, 60W and a 100W power supply and it makes no difference). I have tried with no power supply and it makes no difference. I have tried with only a few of the peripherals connected and it makes no difference. When it appears to be working correctly, every 2-3 hrs. it just disconnects everything for no apparent reason and I have to start the reconnection process again.I have only made the HDMI connection work at 60Hz HD (1080p 1024x768) with flickering but I do not need it, my NVIDIA video card has more than enough outputs for the displays I use.I have a $15 ANKER hub that never gives me any problems, it just does not have all the outputs I need. Nor, is it a powered hub which I want to relieve any possible power supply stress on the desktop.Do I have a bad unit or is this the best this hub can do? Do I try to replace it or just return it and get my money back? Not sure if I want to go thru the hassle of replacing the hub and just having to go thru all of this again. Maybe I should just look for another brand!******[Update: Although I still stand by my initial 1-star review, I must say the customer service team is one of the greatest I have ever seen. On their own, after apparently seeing this review, I was contacted by them with a satisfactory solution to this item’s problem. The customer service team gets 5 stars.]“UPDATE May 17, 2025” Initially I was given a refund, allow to keep the defective unit and was told they would send me an upgraded model as a replacement free of charge, which they did. I was also told that they would let their lab know of my problems with the unit I purchased and send me the same model, free of charge, once their lab made any required changes of hardware/software as needed to correct the problems I was having. I did get the same upgraded original model I purchased a few weeks ago and must say that everything works great. After initially giving them 1 star, I will now give them 5 stars on their product and 6 stars on customer service which is the finest I have ever encountered.”

Una de las razones por la que compre este dispositivo es porque soy músico y tengo un piano con cable usb c y una interfaz que también es usb c y la Mac que tengo solo tiene 2 puertos, así que no tenia forma de cargarla. Antes usaba puertos USB A para ambos y los conectaba con otro adaptador pero la Mac a veces no lo reconocía y era un dolor de cabeza, por eso decidí cambiar los cables a usb c. Bueno con este adaptador ya puedo conectar mis 2 equipos por usb c, todavía me quedan dos disponibles y uno de ellos lo voy a usar para una mesa de control MIDI y el otro queda disponible para conectar otra cosa usb c o cargar la Mac, y aun así todavía me sigue quedando el otro puerto usb c que trae la Mac. Además este adaptador trae 3 puertos USB A para conectar cualquier otra cosa y un HDMI (En verdad no he usado ni los usb ni los HDMI) Hasta ahora funciona excelentemente bien.

I purchased this 8-in-1 USB-C hub because it had the ideal combination of ports that I wanted. I found the hub to be very well made, performant, and overall, a very good value. Unfortunately, the video chip used for the HDMI port was incompatible with the HP U27 (4K) monitor that I have so I had to ask for a refund. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars.The support from Vangree was top-notch: responsive, empathetic, and excellent follow-through. In fact, it's been one of the most impressive customer support experiences I've had in recent memory. If I could, I'd give their customer support 10 Stars!

My spouse got one through Amazon Vine. I liked it so much I bought a second one with my own money. It even works with my temperamental webcam. I especially like that it has both USB-A and -C ports, so I can plug in all my tools.

Disappointed. Needed a USB C hub to hook up audio interface and Push 3, but when they are plugged in, my computer will not start. If I unplug them from this USB C hub, the computer starts fine. I swapped out this hub for a PCL card with USB C ports on it and all works fine. If I got a blem in the lot, I feel bad about giving this a one star rating. On the other hand, if this is characteristic of what to expect from the other hubs by this company, then my rating is deserved.

The item itself was great, well made, and worked in certain applications, but for me, it did not do what I wanted, and that was to connect a wireless car play dongle, which was not supported. I was hoping to connect the device to my vehicle USB-C port and connect the dongle and phone to the device for wireless car play, but no such luck. It worked with the phone fine and my laptop as an outstanding device, but not for what I was wanting to do.

I actually bought this because it had one of the longest attached type C cables to a type C hub. Most of them have very short ones of less than a foot or even 6 inches! It also was one of the first type 3.2 C hubs with more than one downstream port, even though I did not need it at the time. Since then, I did end up using two different 4tb SSD drives attached to this and it attached to a thunderbolt port on my laptop. Later, I added a 4th monitor to my laptop using the hdmi port. I was already using the built-in graphics adapter for two built-in screens (lenovo twist laptop) and a thunderbolt LG ultrawide display, so I needed the actual built-in adapter. Turned out perfectly...However, I was setting up some new backup SSD drives and after about 72 hours of non-stop data copying, the high speed capability died on all of the usb ports. I sent an email to them and even though it was 6 months after purchase, they sent me a replacement in a few days! [they do a 2 year warranty on this item as of the time I ordered.] The new one is working fine. Hey, electronics sometimes fail. It's nice to know that they back their products so well. Good bang for the buck!
