The base screws were poorly threaded.
I had to call Weaver for replacements to be sent to me.

Screws too short, will not hold with 12ga recoil
The rail itself is perfectly fine but the screws it comes with are way too short. It comes with 3 short screws and one longer screw for the back of it. The 3 in the front are made short so they don't interfere with the barrel or action. Assuming that it would be good enough for a month of turkey hunting I put it on my versamax. I applied loctite blue and tightened it up. Mounted the scope and went to the range to zero it. After about 6 shots I was just about done but notice my scope was detached from gun. Only thing holding it on the gun was the long screw in back. I found a screw on the bench and could tell it had stripped the threads out of the gun. After taking it home and looking closer, the three shorter screws only engage about 2.5 threads which obviously isn't enough for 12 ga 3.5" turkey loads. When I put the longer screw in it is twice as long as others. I put it in with barrel out of gun and could feel it come through by just a little bit. I actually had some of the longer ones that matched the one from the kit at home and with a little time with a file I was able to get them to clear the barrel and it held much better. After about 6 more rounds it held this time. So if your gonna mount this rail to a 12 ga, toss the short screws and get some of the longer ones and file them to clear the barrel or it will rip out the threads.

Read if buying for H&R pardner 12 " the Remington 870 clone"
This product is well made and im sure it would work great if used on the intended firearm. If you have a H&R and have been outfiting it with Remington aftermarket parts do not make the mistake of buying this. it appears there are a few accerseries that we can't use this happens to be one of them however do not be dismayed there are plenty of rail options for the H&R at the same price point on Amazon.

Works well for 870, but not for the 887
I purchased this rail for my 870 and it fit perfect. The rail will fit both weaver and picatinny mounting methods. My red dot is currently attached securely to the rail.My father-in-law also wanted a rail for his 887. Come to find out, the 887 uses a different rail with only 3 screw holes. I searched forever online and couldn't find the 887 rail anywhere. Currently, the only way to order one for the 887 is to call the Remington parts support line and have it shipped. It costs about 3 times as much through Remington, is much slower shipping, and they will either require you to give them the credit card over the phone. I hope this helps someone looking for a rail for a similar rail for their 887.

Perfect fit
The rail fit perfectly on my Remington 870 turkey shotgun and the screws were the exact length for attachment.

Drilled a couple new holes in the rail to match my shotgun and now it's good to go
Can't comment on how it fits on an Remington 870. I bought it to fit on a 870 clone shotgun, and the holes didn't match. Not the rails fault so I gave it 4 stars. Drilled a couple new holes in the rail to match my shotgun and now it's good to go. Next project is to find a red dot for it.

Included screws weren't long enough.
Plain and simple, three of the four included screws didn't even make it through the rail. They sat flush with the underneath. The fourth was s lightly longer but not enough to catch and thread into the gun.Rather annoying, but not worth working out a return, so bought screws myself. But would not recommend others to try it out, unless assurances can be made that it won't happen to them.
