Evolution Audio EL-SUB 18A 18" Active Subwoofer

For the price I set my expectations low and because of a few YouTube videos on cheap subwoofers and reviews i was slightly sceptical however I’m impressed! It’s big, looks great haven’t even played it 50% volume and quite frankly don’t need to unless I’m in a large venue! Sounds good , and gives a really low end thumping bass that takes your favourite songs to the next level these subs can convincingly do a small/medium sized venue with no problems can’t wait to test it further at its full potential but from me I would 100% recommended it if your working with a budget and our beginning to djay.

It's very big and heavy and looks the part. Really nice sound at low to mid volume kicking out a really heavy bass thuml but then disappears behind the bass from the standard 250w speakers. I was hoping for more volume but to be honest, at the start of a gig when everyone is arriving and chatting I have everything on a low volume and this is where this sub comes into its own, beautiful rich bass without drowning out the party. A nice addition but won't make up for poor quality speakers that can't handle the deep stuff. Do yourself a favour and buy a brace to cover the controls as with one careless knock you'll break them off. Would I buy again? Probably not and go for 2 15' units instead. Having only the xlr input also gets a star knocked off, but still overall a nice sub well put together.

Hooked this sub; Direct to my behringer eq: which has a separate dedicated subwoofer control on it so I can manipulate the bass frequencies at a mere touch; the low end punch on this evolution 18"sub is just what my sound system needed; my music is smooth & sweet at the same time perfect bass after fine tuning & calibration,months later decided to add a second evolution 18"active sub to my set up put simply I can't believe the bass I should have bought 2:of these units sooner; very happy am I..

Do not buy this speaker it Buzzez and rattles and the customer care you get from the seller is Disgusting

The quoted power output is outrageous and totally inaccurate. The sub is driven by a TDA7294 power amp i.c, that at best can only deliver 100 watts "music power" , or in "real money" 70 watts RMS !

Outside and venue music events in conjunction with top end speakers. One negative point would be the controls are not protected from accidental breakage and would be better recessed or have some sort of buffer. Care should be taken when transporting.

Omg they are huge. I couldn't lift them and had to send them back due to not being able to lift them and them both being way to big. These are made for huge rooms or functions
