One of the world's last great Chocolate bars
The UK chocolate bar scene in the 70's & 80's was a frantic mellie or NPD, marketing & promotion with new bars launched by the four main players: Rowntree Macintosh, Cadbury, Terry's, and US company Mars. Us 70's & 80's kids never had it so good with the amount of choice and competition meant prices were kept low, new bars always came out and manufacturers offered fabulous promotions like money-off, extra free, special merch and competitions. Lion was one of the huge success stories of the 70's and long may it reign. Since the global incorporated bought out the British chocolatiers and confectioners the products have become dull & homogenised with only some of the great bars left. RIP - Cabanna, Caramac, Texan, Drifter, Fuse, Spira, Time Out, Coconut Boost, Banjo, Five Centres etc.
