I love this. It is waterproof and simple to use with a single control and single wire. I planted my seeds and put them in a covered tray on the pad. It keeps my seedlings warm and toasty as the germinate. They seemed to germinate more quickly than normal.Possibly I should have bought a larger size. This one holds 8 of my germination trays, but it works out since I germinate in two week phases, then rotate them off the heating pad.When germination is done, I can roll it up and safely store it in the original box until I need it again next year.

My cassia alata is enjoying the heat. It’s a zone 9 and I’m in zone 5-6

This seeding heating pad is tops!!Made a serious difference in germination time and volume. All plants loved it and responded well. Can handle 4 standard sized seedling trays of 20" × 10".

Seems to work fine if power is constant. If you lose power it will turn off and lose your settings. I would not use this in an environment where you relied on it to keep your plants alive!! Any fluctuation (even slight power outage) it will turn off and reset the temperature to 95F. I plugged it into a power meter and it draws 20 to 21 watts when fully on (first starts) and variable once it reaches temp. I have mine inside a large tote with the baby plants sitting inside a smaller tote (heat pad between totes). Lights are on top of the small tote and the lid is on the large tote. I placed a remote thermometer inside on the bottom of the second tote in the root area. With the heating pad set at 79F it keeps the bottom grow area between 74F when the room temperature is 63F and 76F when the room temperature is 69F. My desired root grow temperature is 75F. Only been using it 2 days -- we will see about reliability. I would have given it 5 stars if it defaulted back to the previous on/off setting and kept its programmed temperature setting when the power goes out. If you use it you need to put it on the power reset list along with the microwave clocks.

Is consistently about 20-30 degrees colder than what the temp says on the built in gauge. Not so useful for certain live reptiles that require the mat to be under the habitat, but may would still be useful for germination of plants or incubation of eggs. Takes a long time to stabilize a given temperature, but it works well enough. I can see why this one was on sell. Fair enough buy, but not what I truly needed for the best efficiency for reptile habitat.

These mats sped up germination. Used them in a room with temprature between 65 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Worked fine no problems so far.

This is a great heat mat for plant germination. I had a traditional heat mat I was using for my garden plants to start them from seeds. Was having issues as the old mat wouldn't stay on for long periods and hard to regulate consistent temperature.After I got this mat I put it to work and checked everything the following morning and my seeds were in a green house state that I could not have achieved with out this mat. It works great. It has nice even heating across the entire mat. The display is also a nice feature as I have it set and can see the true temp I have the mat set to. So far I'm very impressed with the heat mat.

I used the mat at the start of the year to help germinate a few seeds. It didn't get hot enough quick enough for its own sensor, before shutting off because it wasn't reaching temp.I was going to use it to keep some indoor plants warm through the winter, but when I went to turn it on to test it. I came back after ten minutes to find it flashing 25.00 and not heating any more. Unplugged and plugged it back in and now the display doesn't work.Save your money and buy a better controller and mat. Don't buy this cheap crap.

I really like how I can control the temperature of the planter while trying to grow seeds in the basement. I could get the target temp easily but if the basement is too cold it struggles a bit to reach target. Overall a must have when you are working from a basement during an Ontario winter.

j ai acheter cet article que je croyais bon aller que je pose de serieuses question car il n est pas precis alors qu il devrais l etre, je lai ajuster a 24 pour la germination et j ai fait un teste … il chauffe jusque a 25.9 et il recommence a chauffer a 22.6sa fait une difference de 3.3 degree alors sois il ne fonctionne pas bien sois je me suis fait avoir un degree sa peut passer mais 3.3 ces trop pour la germination ……….. un gas pas heureux de sont achat a retouner chez le detaillent

The pad it’s self is very curved from being in the box for a while. Though it’s not something I’m to worried about I’m hoping this will flatten over time. I was a bit confused at first with what to do with the plugs and the sensor because I couldn’t find the instructions but I did afterwards.Plugging it in for the first time it took a little while for the pad to start heating up but it seems to heat pretty evenly, I have not set up anything to put on the mat yet so I will update when I use it more

I set the thermostat for 78F and once everything was stabilized I was getting a range of 3 degrees above and below that. That was fine as those temperatures were within the overall range for clones, but might be too large a swing for some uses/preferences. The temperature displayed wasn't perfect but it was acceptably close enough for me.
