TURN OFF YOUR CELLPHONE BLUETOOTH AFTER SETUP!
I am generally delighted with the product now that I've got it sorted out. But it's a real IQ test to get through it.I tried to download the app and do the setup that way. In the end I used a combination of manual and bluetooth setup. I have empathy for the people that had to come up with the instructions, but wow.I got the optional HRM and am very happy being able to see my speed, cadence, distance and heart-rate at the same time. That's exactly what I wanted. The reason for the title is that if you get on the bike with your phone in your pocket and the bluetooth on, it interferes with the sensor communication with the head. The only way to see the sensors is to reset everything then ride away. If you walk away from the bike and come back, it messes up again. It took me a minute to figure that out and apply the remedy. I can probably manage that pretty well since I ride alone, but if you ride in groups you've got a potential challenge, I don't know.

Know what you want to do
Absolutely read the instructions and then ALSO go online and read them again. The paper instructions talk to setting up via a phone. This only sets the time on the bike computer initially. Go through the setup without “pairing” your phone first. THis will allow you to set the tire size and a few other features. One you have that done you can begin to learn the rules of using this through the app.The app isn’t overly intuitive and the guidance on how to use it isn’t available. If I connect my phone to the computer I can download a previous trip(if I saved it ), but while the phone is connected the computer is useless. There is a function for you to connect to the sensor and use the phone as a computer to record the trip. This used the GPS feature simulated on most phones. (Average phone doesn’t have the capability of actually receiving and calculating a GPS signal, but instead relies on cell towers and public math) a feature that don’t follow through with as I go in and out of cellular service.I can’t use the phone connection, and the computer at the same time. I find that a little frustrating.I was under the impression that his would connect automatically and I could have my data update just by being there. Nope. This is a manual process. Fair note I could be goofing the heck out of this and just sucking at life. Not the first time, but right now I must save the ride, remove the computer (it slides off), press mode until I see the screen change and it is searching for device, open the app, slide the connect button, and then remember which of the menus will allow me to download.

Straightforward to Install, Easy to Use
Based on some of the reviews here, I was a bit hesitant to purchase the Padrone Digital. If there’s one thing that I hate, its electronic stuff that doesn’t work correctly or as advertised. But I’ve bought and used earlier cateye (wired) products successfully, and so I thought I’d take the riskand buy TWO (one for my son as well). I figured the worse that would happen is that I’d simply return them if they didn’t install easily or work well.Well, I was very pleased. My son, who is more tech savvy than myself, downloaded and used the phone app to initialize and install his computer. Being more ‘old school’, I initialized and installed my computer using the paper instructions. We both finished successfully in about the same amount of time, and and then went on a couple of rides to test them out (about 100km). Both Padrones both worked flawlessly (even in the presence of each other and phone activities). Their results were consistently agreeable and easy to read.I would not hesitate to recommend this computer.

May not live up to the marketing hype.
The larger screen is easier to read while riding. The set up and installation, and accompanying instructions, and the recommended website to assist with installation and set up, are terrible. Yes the paper document comes in many languages, but the device does not respond as stated in the instructions. Also, the website does not respond to the feature look up prompts. Additionally, the combination speed/cadence pick component may not fit well on all types of bikes. My carbon fiber frame does not provide the needed space between the wheel, pedal arm, and magnets to allow for a clean/low profile installation. Thus requiring me to me more creative in the installation, but this then makes the speed/cadence install pick device install less than low profile and awkward looking, which may cause future problems. In short, the install process will take a fair amount of tinkering to try to get this device to provide all the information a user might desire, especially when the end result is that I must choose between speed or cadence, since the combination speed/cadence device does not fit well and the set up instructions are nearly useless and in some case incorrect. I have used many different bike computers over many years of riding, and I have found that the set up instruction for this device and its design is not that good. I had hoped for better from Cat Eye.

Doesn’t work
I don’t spend much time reviewing products, but this one I need share my experience. Vendor is ok, took a while to arrive, but it’s fine. Installation took a while until you understand how it really work. The big problem here is that the communication between the computer and the sensor doesn’t work. I did try everything. Every time I start ride, it doesn’t work, you need to reset the sensor, and it works for 5 seconds, and while I ride it works for 2 seconds here, 3 seconds there. I did everything the manual instructed and I did all the fine tuning to positioning it right. Just doesn’t work!!! I will try to return...

Best option for price range
A little querky to set up online directions were more helpful pairing multiple items... heart strap.Like to shop local but if they dont stock the sensors for the unit then too bad.Cat eye has always been the dependable way to go for me.

concern about product quality
It is a good computer, very light, slick design, worked well until broke ! It failed only after about 200km on the bike ! I had to return it and received the replacement however it is bike off season now and I can't test it, hopefully it will work properly for long time.
