So it might pick something up down there but is made for higher signals; probably pretty accurate at say, 5kHz. **Q: Aside from "ghost hunting", does an emf meter have any usefulness?** A: Actually, this little meter has been around for a long time; only recently coming into fashion for "ghost hunting" expeditions. It can be used by electricians, plumbers heating and air people, burglar alarm companies, etc. in the fields of home building, protecting or repair. Look it up online with the query - "official uses for K-II EMF meter" and this should better answer your question. **Q: Does this meter auto shut off if left on for extended amount of time?** A: No you need to manually shut it off **Q: Does this item have sound?** A: Sorry, no they do not, but I bought a cheap simple piezo buzzer from radio shack & a chrome switch & soldered it onto the board for sound, not the greatest buzzer but it works, I recently re-sold 2 of these on ebay because we prefer the Mel Meter with shadow detector built in & the cheaper Ghost Meter, they work much better after we've used all 3 for years, that's why we sold the k-2 it just got famous because they use it on Tv, but the Ghost meter has nice sound & looks good, not the Pro version of Ghost Meter, they kinda ruined it with that version, but just the plain old Ghost Meter, if you have the money spend a $100 on the mel meter if you have more get it with the shadow detector built in, it's works great, ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Woooo wow! yes! I thus move the table and chair to avoid the refregirator and the wall, and escape to another room when using microwave. It is amazing that the lamp in my office cause this hunter 3 lights on. But the lamps in my apt will not. I find I better sit instead of stand in office, luckily, that is what I do most of the time.
