Purchased this as a backup and as a training device. When compared to my more expensive optical meter on numerous occasions, it surprisingly produced the exact same power reading. Unit has proven to be accurate, and the VFL functions properly as well.

While the use-case for fiber optic testing devices is growing in modern businesses, my personal need for a quality testing device is increasing at an accelerated rate. I work in I.T and even some of our residential clients are requesting fiber optic circuits to be installed in their homes.When comparing the results to more expensive meters we have used they are within very reasonable variance. For something that costs about 3x less, it is 100% fine. The included RJ45 cable tester provides accurate results as well, and even accurately detected an intermittent fault that another meter of ours looked over. I'm very satisfied with the test results of this meter. It is extremely lightweight and easy to carry, though some may prefer the feel of a heftier tester, I personally don't mind lowering the weight of my tool bag.In terms of practicality, this tester is punching far above its price range and is a tool that is growing to be increasingly required across a multitude of industries. I would recommend picking one up to add to your toolbag if you are looking to improve your wiring skills and versatility.

Did not turn on. I tried three different sets of AAA batteries, with no results. AVOID THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT.

Functions correctly, though haven't had the chance to fully test the optical line tester. Plastic feels a bit weak, wouldn't recommend using it in the field, more of a single location device. I like that the remote testing terminal clicks into the end of the main tool body for storage, so it's harder to lose.

I like the little unit. The power meter is accurate enough. I am using it in the field, not in a lab. The visual light source is great to have and the solid vs blinking modes are a nice touch. It makes tracing down fibers a lot easier. The RJ45 tester is a nice treat. I can carry this one item in my bag to trace fibers, do basic power readings, and test network cables. I like the unit and recomend it. I keep it in my bag all the time. The size is small and does not take up much room in my bag. The included adapter is really handy as I work with LC connectors as much as I do SC and ST connectors. This is one handy does mostly all I need in a small size. The only thing I wish is that it came in a small zippered nylon case to keep the the meter and the adapter. For the price vs function it is great deal.

Did not have the opportunity to try this out but the quality is pretty decent. I love that the RJ45 remote jack slips out from the bottom and the top is for fiber optic hookups. I drop a ton of equipment so it survived the drop from puling it out from the box, yes that actually happened.
