Colour Confident Stitching: How to Create Beautiful Colour Palettes

Excellent
This book was both informative and readable (a rare combination). I’ve tried to get my head around colour theory many times but it has never worked for me, perhaps because the books were either way too technical or because they were written for painters, I don’t know. This book worked well for me and I now have a much better understanding of how I can make colour work in my textile art. I will be returning to this book time and again and will be working through many of the exercises suggested. This is an invaluable book!

Ok intro to colour theory but lacking overall
The chapter on colour theory is a good introduction to colour theory if you are a beginner. However, the next few chapters are how to generate a feeling for colour are less than useful. Pastels are described as ethereal, yet also compared to custard or dough. One example has you imagining the colours of a night moth, but the description veers into "high heels" which is odd. The section on creating colour palettes looks like a dulux sampler (as someone else has said). There is very little info on how to blend and mix colours using stitches, and the projects at the back of the book are uninspiring. There are better books out there.

Great on colour theory
This is one of the best books I’ve read on colour theory as it applies to textile art. It’s practical, clear and easy to incorporate into your practice , whatever level you are at.
