I bought these two filters To go with my new crown berkey. I primed the filters and dye tested them with the filters that came with the Berkey and a second set of filters I bought from a different manufacturer. These filters passed the dye test but filtered apx 10 times faster than the original filters and the filters from the other manufacturer. I will be returning these filters if possible. Did not check taste or anything else. If using with my original filters these would have taken all the flow. Too many questions about quality compared to original filters for me. Hope this helps.

These are a more economical option though I would only use them with already potable water just in case.

This coconut activated carbon banded filter is good up to an amazing 6,000 gallons of water. This filter works in tandem with a fluoride filter connected together in most popular 2-3 gallon gravity filter system. Great taste--no odor and tested for maximum filtration. At $22.99 when I ordered they are a good deal, but with the price drop to $16.99 (as of this review) they are a GREAT deal. I RECOMMEND.

I was looking forward to putting these in my purifier and giving them a test but I never received them. Not the manufacturers fault, but the shipper. Looking at the other reviewers photos the packaging is identical to others that I have although a different brand name. The truth is they are probably all the same anyways. I have never sent in a sample for testing, but I've never had any odd issues or tastes that would make me think these are not working well. For the price they're worth trying so I'm going to give them 4 stars based on my prior experience with what is probably the exact same filter.

These are more light weight than the originals and may not last as long.Still makes a noticeable difference in the taste of chlorinated water.Great product if your on a budget.

Nowhere near as good of filtration or longevity as the ceramic style filters. The filter is too porous. Water filters more quickly, but does not inspire confidence because it seems to filter too quickly.The porous nature of the filter seems to allow for larger contaminants to infiltrate, ultimately permanently blocking flow of water, rendering them useless after about a month of use. The ceramic filters on the other hand, you can scrub larger particulates/material off of the surface and get about 6 months of use from one set.A bit disappointing and not a good value really. I will say that this product is a little more competitive right now on price due to being on sale for about $20.

Perfect replacement for a gravity drop water filter.No chips or dents were found on the outside of either filter. Easy to prime.Hooks to fluoride filters without issue.

I have two different off-brand water filter systems and these cartridges fit either one. Other reviewers mention specific name brands. These are less expensive than name-brand filters, something my small budget appreciates.I use the filter system for general drinking, coffee, ice-making in a portable machine in another room, and my cat now gets filtered water. My coffeemaker's carafe now does double duty keeping the system topped up when it's not making coffee. With a noticeable improvement in taste, I'll be replacing the filters as needed. Since I live in an apartment, I can't install any filtration to the water supply, so these filters and systems are a good low-cost alternative.
