The Hebrew Reader: Famous Hebrew Texts to Practice Your Reading (Hebrew for Beginners)

I am so happy to add to my collection with this Reader. Learning Hebrew, with this author’s fun and easy system, has been GREAT! This Reader is Great! The font is big enough to not need a magnifying glass. I very much appreciate the selection of items to learn to read as it is very much in line with my purpose for learning :) I am so thankful to Miiko Shaffier (the author) for making learning Hebrew fun and engaging.

Very nice and easy to learn. There are a few mistakes, however, that surprises me.

This is a huge help in learning how to read and speak Hebrew at a good pace. Also this is an excellent way to understand many of the Hebrew words in both prayer and everyday secular phrases. The perfect next step in LEARN HEBREW IN 6 WEEKS

This is a great book that gives you an easy way to make sure your pronunciations are matching your readings. It’s good to cross reference with an English/hebrew interlinear. I would recommend.

For an unknown reason, I have always been interested in Hebrew. I continue with my lessons and struggle. Being able to read a simple sentence is a big deal for me.This book is user friendly, has bold print and makes learning fun. I am very glad that I purchased this particular text. Shalom

As a fan of Miiko Shaffier's first book on learning to read the Hebrew alphabet, I was excited to see this new book become available. The first book was so easy to read and fun, I wasn't sure what to expect of the second. I didn't want to feel overwhelmed, but I did want to build upon what I had learned. I was thrilled to open it and discover that it was everything I had hoped for! It is not too much, not too little. It's just right! I am actually reading Hebrew thanks to the author's clever and intuitive teaching methods!

I am an adult convert to Judaism. Although I have successfully studied other languages, I have found getting passed the initial steps in Hebrew very difficult. I highly recommend Shaffier’s system—it works! Learn to Read Hebrew got me through the alphabet. It is geared more toward children; however, the catchy explanations, drawings, and review exercises helped. The Hebrew Reader is not a children’s book. It contains excerpts from Scripture and Prayers in a 3 column format: Hebrew, Transliteration of the Hebrew, and English translation. You can check your pronunciation this way easily. Note the Reader does not teach grammar, but there are other books for that—once you get through the basics and ability to read the text. A gem.

I have enjoyed learning to read and write Hebrew - this course made a very difficult task possible. Thank you!
