So much easier and better than the basic screens

Very useful little pipe screens, they can be used indefinitely if used with care. These come in different sizes, so make sure you get the right size for your bowl. These just drop in to your pipe bowl, and prevent any detritus being sucked through. Initially, they will fall out, when you empty your pipe, but as you get a tarry build up they will stick in place. These can be cleaned in isopropyl alcohol, with salt in, to act as an abrasive, I just leave them to soak in a sealed container, giving it a shake now and then. Alternatively they can be "burn" cleaned, hold them with a metal skewer, or an unbent paperclip, and apply some fierce heat, until they go red with heat. This carbonises any tarry residue, and it can be scraped of with the edge of a knife, or a wire brush, leaving the screen black, but clear, and ready to be re-used. This is however, the easiest way to break them, the gauze becomes separated from the ring, and then they are useless. So, I usually prefer the isopropyl alcohol method (you can but that on Amazon)However, they are generally a vast improvement on the flat gauzes that you have to shape yourself. Highly recommended.

The ltem I saw wasn't what I was expecting. This item that you sent was a lot smaller than I thought. I wanted ones that are for a big smokers pipe.

The very best screens you can buy don't go for the brass ones they fall apart with one use, these you can use the same one for months as long as you clean the regular! Have never had one of these fall apart on me very well made. They might be a bit more expencive than other bowls but these are top quality you can't get better than these!
