This specific set is made in China but it’s made under ICWM (International Caster & Wheel Manufacturers) quality standards. These are much stronger than the casters you’ll find at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or harbor freight. If you need Casters Made in the USA we also have those but they are a bit more expensive. Technically you can weld them but the swivel casters and mounting plate do have a zinc plating on them. Zinc is very dangerous to breathe in when welding. We recommend you leave the plates sitting in muriatic acid for a few hours to un plate the mounting plates or wear protection so you do not breath in the fumes of the zinc plating when welding. Holes are slotted 3/8 x 3/4-1 inch

Don't know how much a storage shed weighs, but I wouldn't see why not. They roll really smoothly.
