I was considering buying an overlocking machine but already have a good heavy duty Singer so didn't want to spend another £300 plus. Saw this and thought for the money I would try it.It's really good, cuts quite heavy duty material too.Yes maybe not as professional as a full machine but absolutely perfect for finishing seams which is all most would use it for. Definitely worth the money.

It works fine but there wasn’t any instructions on how to even attach it

I do a lot of sewing and serging and frankly it’s tiresome to move my project back and forth so decided to try this tool. It cuts perfectly, makes a very nice overstitch and for my purposes it’s great. Very easy to install as long as you know that the screw slip and the lever slip have to be maneuvered slightly on an angle towards the right side of your machine to get it all on at the same time, it if you’ve used a ruffler foot then you have the experience. It’s a short learning curve. Excellent product, but then again, it’s a singer so I expect excellence.

I didn’t know these existed until recently. I thought I would give it a try because I gave up my serger a year ago but am sewing more clothes now. I have a vintage low shank sewing machine, an Elna 62c. I suggest watching the YouTube video to get help on how to use the side cutter but once you get used to it it’s quite easy. I occasionally miss the serger which is much faster and has more options but I’m finding it easier to attach this foot than it was to make space on the work table and switch machines. A serger can also take some trouble to adjust tension and re-threading is a pain if a thread breaks. Also you need 3 cones at least of matching thread. And the serger and threads take up storage space. So I’m quite happy with this attachment. It’s a bit loud and you have to be more careful guiding the fabric then with a serger but I find the results quite similar in appearance to a serger. My machine has a cam that gives a similar stitch (cam 149 for vintage Elna fans). But unlike a serger it would be difficult to undo if you needed to. All in all happy with this and like the cutting function as compared to using an edge stitch foot because it trims down the seam at the same time as finishing. I have also used it successfully with rayon but generally prefer to do French seams with finer fabrics.

Man muss ein bisschen probieren aber wenn man den "Dreh" raus hat funktioniert es super. Zustellung war viel schneller als angekündigt und ein Handmaß war als kleines Geschenk mit im Paket, ist zwar nichts besonderes aber eine liebe Geste (und ich hatte noch keins;))

Se mira bien, falta utilizarlo, pero siendo de la marca Singer significa calidad, el empaque llegó un poco golpeado, pero nada que afecte su funcionamiento.

Ottimo prodotto! Funziona molto bene sulla mia Singer Heavy duty 4423. Fa risparmiare un sacco di lavoro.
