Work well
We live in a basement apt of a house and we do not have any control over the thermostat so in the winter time (located in Ontario) our landlord cranks the heat which is fine during the day or evening but too uncomfortably warm to sleep in at night so we close the vents on our metal grids plus covers the grids themselves with these magnetic sheets to block all air coming through and they have really made a difference when trying to sleep in cooler temperatures. The sheets have a strong magnetic pull to the metal grids and they were easy to cut to size too. And because we are in the basement, sometimes in the middle of summer, it gets too cold in our apt so we do the same, close the vents and cover them with the magnetic sheet.

Pitiful Magnetic Strength
The magnet on these isn't strong enough to support its own weight even on vertical vent. A total waste of money...

Not a strong enough magnet
These are large enough size to cover my basement vents but unfortunately they won't stick... the magnet isn't strong enough to hold and they immediately fall to the floor. Total waste of money.

Weak magnets but you can possibly make it work
Cheap and made in Taiwan (that's a plus for me). Works on my old style cents but my recently upgraded furnace packs a punch and can blow this cover off. To fix this I cut a small hole to fit over the handle and it holds it in place. But the magnet is definitely too weak and will Most likely NOT work on ceiling vents

Its magnet is not very strong, hardly stays in place.
Not a strong magnet. I can hardly cover one vent. If one is covered, the airflow increases, and the others don't stay on. It doesn't stay on vertical walls' vents. (at least not in my place). The black part behind it scratches everything... its worse than a kid with a pencil roaming free!
