Cowboy Conspiracy Theory (WEST Protection) Paperback – September 18, 2021

Em knocked this one out of the park!! Mathias and Maddy make quite the pair…even with douchebag Dahl popping up every two seconds. 😑The storyline is incredible; the characters really are like well-oiled machines; the plot twists and turns just keep on firing at you; and the HEA is just so freaking good! You have to read this book now! ❤️❤️

I loved this book. When I read The Guard I was disappointed Madeline didn’t get a book, but this was so much better. I absolutely love series cross overs. Mathias and Madeline were the perfect storm for this adventure. Both are more than they seem on the surface and watching them figure out the depth of the other was spectacular. I knew it would take a special man to thaw Madeline, especially after her bad relationship history, and Mathias was the perfect man for her. He was rugged and smart but also incredibly kind with a good sense of humor. Their quest to find the mysterious soulmate artifact was definitely a ride. If it could go wrong for them, it did, but it kept me reading and invested in their story.This has been my favorite WEST Protection book so far!

This is the third book in the WEST Protection series and it has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous heart stopping action, strong family and friendships, and even a few chuckles. Mathias is a rancher but also works with his family with WEST Protection. He’s usually behind the scenes though. Madeline works for the Guard, another protection agency. She’s going after an artifact in the uninhabited part of New Mexico before it is found by a criminal and Mathias is assigned as her bodyguard. As they work together to find the artifact while dodging dangerous criminals and hippies, their feelings for each other continue to grow. I love a book with a sexy alpha hero but I also love one that includes a sexy, smart heroine too rather than a damsel in distress. This book gives us two strong main characters but while I loved Matthias, I had a harder time connecting to Madeline. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

To say that I have been waiting a long time for Madeline's story would be an understatement!  I was a huge fan of author Em Petrova's The Guard series where readers of Ms. Petrova's novels were first introduced to Madeline Peerson. To say that she was intriguing is one way of putting it. She kicked arse both literally and figuratively.  From her first introduction, it was obvious that she would have quite the story to share leading towards her HEA. Sadly, The Guard series stopped at book 3 and her story was never told. Fast forward a year and Ms. Petrova found a way for her die hard fans to be treated to Madeline's story-- a crossover book with the WEST Protection Agency series! This is a crossover event made in Heaven! We get to catch a glimpse of some character favorites from The Guard: Oz, Roman and Frisco. Add in getting to know Madeline's bodyguard Mathias Trace as well as some up and coming players in the WEST Protection Agency series, Corrine and Silas, and this book is a  hot, studly event. Do not miss out on reading Cowboy Conspiracy Theory! Madeline and Mathias face a plethora of obstacles in their quest to find a hidden artifact in New Mexico before eccentric and deadly antiquity collector Dahl.   As they race through valleys, hillsides and gorges, will they learn to trust one another enough in order to want to divulge their secrets to each other? Or will they play their cards close and miss out on the opportunity to explore their growing attraction for one another?  Accomplishing a mission and falling in love has never seemed more dangerous.   A definite must read!!!

Having been a fan of both series, I was so happy to see these two brought together. I was also extremely happy that the "ice queen" was going to get her HEA.I really loved that we finally got to see what made Madeline tick. She has been in many other books and she always came off cold and calculated that it was nice to see her thaw out and find out why she is the way she is and also that she has a soft heart under that exterior.Mathias was a true cowboy who only wanted to help behind the scenes, however when he is called upon to help another group it put him in the path of Madeline.Their chemistry was off the charts right from the beginning however it was the banter that was my favorite. You have two very strong personalities trying to work together in some uneasy conditions. Madeline has a hard time taking orders from Mathias which was really fun to read. I especially liked when Mathias would do something intentionally to make Madeline mad just for fun.

This is a fun, exciting read. All hands are on deck when one of the team has a medical crisis. The one who usually stays home and provides backup is called on to provide protection for a woman on the search for an ancient artifact. She’s trying to beat a collector to it. Mathias meets his match when he encounters Madeline, Maddy, a member of the elite group called The Guard. The fun, danger and hot steamy scenes begin. I loved watching Mathias try to thaw “The Ice Queen”. Never underestimate a cowboy!

Definitely not my favorite from this author. There seemed to be so much filler, I found myself skimming an awful lot. And, I’d certainly never want either of these two as bodyguards-which made the story beyond unbelievable.Maddy was not the most likable character and Mathias was far from a sexy hero type. Not much for romance or steam imo. I really wanted to like it more than I did and fingers crossed that The next in the series will be better.

Mathias works for WEST protection with his family. He is more of a details man, and is happier working behind the scenes. In walks Maddy, and his need to protect her comes from far more than his job. She is looking for a missing artifact, and needs his help as her bodyguard to keep her safe on her search. Will their relationship stay strictly professional, or will this job give both of them more benefits than either of them expect?

Cowboy Conspiracy Theory (WEST Protection, #3)by Em Petrova is another truly captivating story. I thoroughly enjoyed the crossover. & action packed storyline.
