Can I create a 3way setup using the 1way switch and receiver set (using the current electric switch with the receiver attached as one of the "ways")?

No, this wireless switch and receiver kit is using the RF remote control and can not be added to current electric electric switch.
You need to order the 3 way set and to control the reciver with the 2 wireless wall switches.
Also, the current electric switch needs to be stay on.

I purchased an additional switch to add to my 3 way unit. How do I program the new transmitter to work with the existing 3 way (2 transmitters) unit?

Thank you for your question.

You can just pair your receiver the the wall switch per the instruction.

To program a remote transmitter and receiver:
1. Turn the power on for the wire receiver.
2. Press the programming button on the receiver until the indicator light begins to flash slowly.
3. Release the programming button and press ON button, then OFF button on your transmitter.
4. The light stops flashing and keeps on indicating the programming has already been set successfully.

We would also like to remind you that when programming the wall switch with the receiver, there is no need to cancel the programming each time. All previous programming will be deleted when you reprogram the switch, or if you do not wish to change the current pairing settings, you can simply skip the cancellation step.

Can the switches be mounted in a normal switch box to replace the existing switch so that they will be flush and not stick out?

No, the wall mounting switch has the same size as the normal standard switch box.
It can't be mounted in a normal switch box.
It can be mounted with screws or tapes.
