After spending weeks trying to find where my coolant was becoming a ghost, I decided to go against my dad's order after researching on Google. Ghost leaks can happen when the radiator cap isn't sealing properly. So, instead of spending a fortune to take it to a shop, I bought this replacement cap to try first. My dad has 35 years experience working on vehicles. I participated a lot; Mostly holding the flashlight and handing over tools. It took a lot to go this route but I'm glad I did. Ghost leak has disappeared! This was a perfect fit for my van and saved me hundreds of dollars for my coolant ghost leak.

The Stant 10230 Radiator Cap Replacement was a perfect fit for my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. The quality is solid, and after putting 15,000 miles on the vehicle, I’ve had no issues at all. I did hours of research regarding different types of radiator caps and in which system types they are designed to function. There is a lot of misunderstandings and misinformation out there, even from otherwise knowledgeable sources. My understanding that this cap (10230) is Stant's NON-VENTED cap. The 10231 is Stant's vented cap. Non-vented caps are for open systems wherein any out-flow is routed to the ground or into a non-recovery tank or reservoir. Vented caps are for "closed" systems wherein any out-flow is routed into a recovery tank and the vented cap allows coolant to flow from the tank back into the radiator as the system cools. Therefore, I believe the statement in the product description for this cap that it is "(f)or open or closed system" is incorrect and this cap should only be used in an open system. A vented cap should be purchased for a system that requires flow back into the radiator from a recovery tank. I have not definitively determined but believe it to be true that either style cap will work in an open system so the only mistake would be installing a non-vented cap in a closed system because it would not allow flow back into the radiator.

Fit perfect on my 1995 Ram 2500 v10 8L and I like the weight to it. Makes me feel that it’s more durable than most. It has a pretty decent sized rubber seal on the inside and fit nice and snug. I like the look of it too. Good quality for the price.
