Nick Cave: Mercy on Me

Highly entertaining with excellent illustrations, entertaining and enjoyable, looking forward too reading the Johnny Cash one.

This book is fantastic. Both the storytelling and the art are exceptional. Reinhard Kleist's art style is very personal, it can be rough and brutal and angular and sometimes really humorous. The story of first The Boys Next Door, the Birthday Party and finally The Bad Seeds is told with a lot of accurate events but also some magined ones, sometimes >taking place in a dreamlike universe with some freedom in the storytelling, notably in the chronological order but it's fine by me. A great book for Nick and BP fans.

The basic idea is good. Take an outstanding musician, writer and performer and approach his life story through the seas and images in his work. There's material included from people who also know Cave and have worked with him for perspective. Somehow it doesn't quite all gel though. Possibly it's that the presentation of some the key themes is so melodramatic that it obliterates credibility. It's interesting because Nick Cave and his work are interesting, but it's missing something that other biographies with a similar approach have successfully pulled off.

Everything you want from a graphic novel of the great man. Fab gothic moody artwork. Makes a great gift. I loved a cheeky look before giving it to my brother as a gift. Married his two great loves nick and graphic novels. I am now dropping big hints for my own copy

This is a great graphic novel for Nick Cave fans, also the artwork style is amazing. A must for graphic novel enthusiast and music fans.

Great product for the Nick Cave fan! Packaging was nit great, paperback in plastic bag, however it didn’t sustain any damage. Arrived in time for the birthday.

Le dessin est très bon, avec une vraie personnalité de l'auteur, ce qui rehausse la qualité du texte, très "Cavien". Une vraie découverte, je conseille! (A noter qu'une traduction française a été faite en 2018 je crois, mais le texte en anglais c'est tout de même mieux, même si la VO est en allemand)...
