Heavy Duty 50 amp RV Surge Protector w/ Great Features
As described, this is a heavy (heavy) duty surge protector for your 50 amp RV. Weatherproof cover (does not lock). The cover is clear plastic, made so that when your RV is plugged in (or your DC fast charge electric car), the cover can still close or mostly close, over your cord. The EV plug with 50 amp adapter is a bit bulkier, so cover doesn't close all the way - doesn't detract from using. Yes, there is a rectangular cutout in unit/cover for the trailing charge cord to hang down. BEST: This surge protector has diagnostic indicator lights (red and green) for various possible wiring faults. THIS IS A MUST if you are traveling/plugging into power pedestals at campgrounds. Very clear indicators (see description) The back of the heavy black 50 amp plug has plastic molded 'pulls' on it (like you would expect). Nicely thick, will last a long time. The yellow plastic body of the unit looks nice, and the yellow is bright enough it MIGHT remind you not to leave it behind when you unplug your RV and leave! The back of the unit has a flat, flush black plastic plate, counter sunk hardware for weather resistance. At our house, this surge protector plugs in, hangs down almost flush to the wall. (the cord (between plug end and top of unit is about 4.5"). Easy to use, easy to install and remove. Plug is tight. RV plug connection is tight. Note that you can STILL SEE the indicator lights when something is plugged into the unit. While hefty and a bit heavy (good quality); there will be no problem fitting this into our undercarriage hook up kit on the RV. Excellent product, works like expected, no issues. RV is humming along just like before - except now I have a bit more peace of mind with a surge protector unit protecting my RV.

Heavy duty surge protector
This surge protector is heavy duty and sturdy. It has a plastic cover that just closes over the connector. Well made and heavy, not a light item. The connector is sturdy and abit stiff, but I think it's because everything about this item is heavy duty. The instructions are on the box itself - pretty self explanatory. I can't plug it in anywhere right now - will have to wait until the new year when we start traveling to rv sites again. But it looks like a 30 amp one we have, and I'm sure it will work just as well. So either the power outlet will be bad and you will see the indicators light up, or it will just be in Surge Protection mode. Overall, I think this item is a worthwhile investment to protect your RV.

Easy to install, and provides an extra level of protection to my trailer's power system.
Setting up a trailer for my brother-in-law to live in, and as a part of that I had to add shore power jack for it. After that, I wanted to make sure it was correctly wired, and having the addition of surge protection adds a degree of protection for the trailer's electrical system. It would be especially handy to have if you're traveling in a trailer or RV, as it allows you to test the wiring in the shore power of whatever park you stop at.

I can’t recreate a power surge or voltage drop
Every RVer knows a surge protector is a necessity when switching from one 50 amp power source to another. When I was new to RVing, I bought a Hughes Power Watch Dog. It has protected me several times. This surge protector has just as heavy duty wire and connectors (male and female) as my Watch Dog. Can’t speak for the electronics, but I got this one for a backup. None of them last forever. This one is 1/4 the price I paid for my Watch Dog, and 1/3 of what a Watch Dog costs today.

Surge Protection Is A MUST, Not A Luxury
The media could not be loaded. Very Decent Surge Protector. I like the bright yellow color. That will help in not leaving it behind which is easy to do when a person is busy getting ready to get back on the road. This surge protector is an excellent value. Surge Protectors can be very expensive but not nearly as expensive as repairing damage done to the various components of a boat or RV from an electrical anomaly, including the possibility of fire which would be catastrophic as well as a serious safety concern. An electrical anomaly from lightning or a utilities malfunction can cause severe damage to an RV. The insurance deductible for a claim would far exceed the price of even the most expensive surge protector. If you don't have a surge protector, GET ONE!This surge protector conforms to the seller’s description, the price is very appropriate, it meets my expectations and I like it.* * * * * Five Stars

It's a beast of a surge protector
This thing is quite large and heavy duty and easy to use. Large easy to read indicators are helpful as well.

Very durable except for plastic lid.
Plastic lid is flimsy and doesn't have a seal on it.

Great Value
What a beast this thing is. Super Heavy Duty. 50 full amps of protection for less money than the "cheaper" 30 amp protectors. Well built, solid plug and receptacle. LED control panel with easy to read trouble/status lights. If you have an RV or Trailer/Camper you need this!
