DMT D3EFC 3-inch Dia-Sharp Sharpener, Credit Card Sized- Extra-Fine, Fine and Coarse Diamond -Set of 3

These have been brilliant. I bought them to bring some rather tired kitchen knives back to life, and going through all three has got them so sharp that my girlfriend is nervous of using them! The coarse one even let me remove some quite deep nicks in the blade, so it does remove quite a lot of material. The only thing missing from the kit is something to "stick" the plates down as you use them. I ended up cutting out a section of one of those dashboard mats that hold your phone in place, and it works perfectly.

Good kit with the right grits for all types of sharpening. Quality feel & weight and leaves a good edge for woodturning chisels, knives and router bits.

These are really handy. I use to sharpen my wood turning chisels. I don’t always need to use my grinder so having these in my back pocket is a bonus. They are not cheap but hopefully they will last a long time. I have coarse, fine and extra fine for just honing my chisels in between projects.

My father has the trend card with 2 grits on 1 card and after using I needed to buy my own for sharpening drill and router bits. The 3 cards arrived in great condition and i'm happy with them.

I love these. Even though I have equipment for sharpening these keep the cutting edge very close to what's needed. A must for any tool kit. Thanks

Excellent small (credit-card size) flat diamond coated sharpening plates

these are awful. The diamond coating doesent last past the first use. it just scrapes off so now i just have 3 smooth metal cards that couldnt sharpen a pencil, let alone a blade. complete waste of money

Rápido afilé con el set un cuchillo higonokami que por accidente le arruiné el filo con un afilador V-shaped chino barato que x curioso compre y con las tarjetas diamantados restauré el filo y pasó de nuevo satisfactoriamente la prueba del papel "térmico" ( yo pruebo mis cuchillos y navajas con las notas emitidas del super que son de papel térmico más delgado y un poco más flexible). Contento con la compra y con la facilidad con que recuperé el filo del higonokami.

OH I LOVE this set. WONDERFUL! First of all, it's a DMT product, and their diamond crystals are superior to the competition to begin with. Normally, diamond sharpening stones have the characteristic honey-comb appearance. The purpose for this is to help remove the metal dust created by the sharpening process. The dust falls into the honey-comb pattern, keeping the cutting surface clear. That's great, and it works very well on knife blades. But that pattern is a problem when sharpening tiny things, and pointy things. Anything small enough to partially "fall" into a honey-comb hole pattern requires a continuous sharpening surface, like these! I have only had this set for a few weeks, and have used them a zillion times. Most recently, last night. My wife shopping (Amazon, naturally) for yet another pair of tweezers. I asked her to show me the "dead" ones, and she brought down her tweezer grave-yard box. In short order I had re-dressed those tweezer surfaces to better-than-new performance. Then I went after my heavily abused "tool" quality tweezers, and THOSE are all now good enough to pluck Tinkerbell's nostril hair. (video pending) Here's something else... last week, I was shopping for a new "head" for my electric razor. It's a very nice 3-head Norelco. But when the head wears out, it's expensive to replace. I took the cutting blades out, lubricated just the "fine" sharpening plate with a few drops of water, and gave the cutting surfaces a bit of a polish. Holy cows! It's like night-and day difference! With just those TWO items sharpened, this set has more than paid for itself already. Now THAT'S value. Despite their tiny (credit-card) size, they are fairly heavy, so I was not carrying them every day. Well, I've changed my mind. They are just TOO useful to be without, and now they have a permanent home in my Maxpedition Versa-pack. (a manly guy satchel, not a "fanny pack". So there.) Now, ONE little warning: These are a set of tools, NOT some kind of magical sharpening machine. No more than a nice socket set is a magical tune-up macine for your vehicle. I see negative reviews here on perfectly wonderful sharpening sets, which is absurd. It's like saying that your car runs rough because your craftsman socket wrench did a bad job tuning your car up. Every tool has it's physical properties and limitations, and sharpeing requires a little bit of knowlege and skill. The more practice you get, the better your understanding becomes. (well, for most people, anyway.) If you're new to sharpening, you will get much better results if you do a little bit of free reading on the Internet, and watch a few YouTube videos to see how experienced people do it. And yes, you'll find even the "Pro's" contradict eachother all the time. Don't worry about it. ANYONE can put a really decent edge on a piece of steel with a little practice. (I recommend DMT's other knife sharpening products as well.) PERFECTION... well, that's another story all together. There is a lot of "obession" in the sharpeing game. Take your skills as far as is comfortable for you. Just keep it fun. -Berk

Ich habe mir aufgrund guter Erfahrungen mit DMT-Produkten dieses kleine Set zum Schärfen für zwischendurch gegönnt. Der Preis war im Angebot von knapp unter 30 Euro total in Ordnung. Das Produkt selbst kommt schlicht verpackt in Plastik in einzelnen Hüllen ins Haus. Die positiven Details: - Klein: Die Schleifplatten passen in die Geldbörse in den Karteneinschub und können somit bequem mitgenommen werden - Der Abtrag des Materials ist von grob bis fein durch Diamant leicht zu bewerkstelligen. Leichte Ausbrüche lassen sich mit der blauen Karte entfernen und bis hin zu einer sehr guten Gebrauchsschärfe sind die Körnungen sehr ausgewogen zusammengestellt. - Die Karten sind ebenfalls farblich mittels Aufkleber markiert. Ein Vertauschen somit ausgeschlossen. - liegt angenehm in der Hand - wertiges Produkt Die negativen Details: - Aufgrund der Größe etwas fummelig in der Anwendung, aber mit Übung kein Problem - relativ schwer für die tagtägliche Geldbörse, daher für mich eher kein EDC (abhängig von eigenem Empfinden) Für das gedachte Einsatzgebiet unterwegs eine klare Kaufempfehlung. Für den täglichen Hausgebrauch würde ich etwas anderes empfehlen. Produkt kam wie beschrieben und war am nächsten Tag da.
