fantastic, colour , graphic novel style bible
This is a fantastic book - the entire bible in a graphic novel format! We are not religious but my daughter was interested in the bible stories. I tried a few normal kids bibles but they weren't successful. I then found this on an amazon search - this book is amazing - each part of the bible is beautifully illustrated in full colour in the style of a marvel magazine or graphic book. The text is succinct and subtle. The pages are fairly thin - a lot of pages are packed in as the narrative covers the entire bible. I buy a lot of managa and graphic novels for my children, they are usually very expensive for a smallish book, but this is about triple the volume of those and about half the price. It really looks like a labour of love on the part of the authors/illustrators. My daughter often has a read of this - great for reluctant readers too and of course the bible promotes lots of discussion. The illustrations are in a very realistic style (see the front cover), they are not cartoonish or disrepectful. This is not a text for infant school children but for older primary and secondary pupils. It must be a wonderful aid for RS teachers and church schools everywhere.

Great cartoons
Bought this after getting stuck with someone who'd converted to god! I remembered some of the bible stories I'd learnt and enjoyed as a child and decided to revisit them with this. The illustrations in this are excellent. I really enjoyed this.

A solid if uninspired interpretation.
If you know the Lion Children's Bible, then this is thankfully a more sensible and carefully-worded full-colour 250-page comic-strip version. Its good points are that it is lavish A4 book with huge detail of the OT and NT Bible stories. However, it lacks the sparkle and wit of the "The Action Bible: God's Redemptive Story" which though a great read, is several times the price.A worthy and reliable graphic version of the Bible but not quite up there with the best!

How to reach young people with the Good News
Pictures are really well done and bring energy to the text - similar to a comic strip but I felt the power of the bible stories leap out from the page. Good read for children from age 9 and upwards to young adult - my nephew of 24 who is not a church goer said it had brought alive the bible, which for me says it all. I have bought four more copies to give away.

Wonderful visuals
Great book and the visuals and size cause the reader to be draw into the story.

Bible story in comic/magazine form
Great way to read the bible but wouldn't suggest it for anyone with poor vision as the print/speech bubbles are rather small.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It is really good and a great way of teaching kids about the bible. I wasn't sure about the bible in comic form but it is in no way irreverent and makes it interesting to read.
