Experience the action, betrayal and lustful adventure of Vikings Season 4! Following his defeat in battle, Ragnar Lothbrok returns to Kattegat humbled, but defiant. Ragnarโs brother Rollo, now his nemesis, remains in Frankia, while his sons compete against one another to succeed him. Determined to save what remains of his legacy despite his divided family, Ragnar makes a perilous voyage to England with son Ivar, intent on attacking the Saxons. Meanwhile, Kattegat and Aslaugโs feud deepens. With powerful performances, intense action and an intriguing story line, this season is a must-watch! Review: Why I Love Vikings - Vikings has been a great show from the start of season 1 and continues to provide high quality viewing and an engaging view of the history and cultures of the Viking era. Season 4 starts with most of our favourite characters still alive and Ragnar at home licking his wounds. Floki has a rough time. Bjorn treks out into the wilderness to find himself, tracked by a berserker out for his blood. Rollo struggles to find his feet in the unfamiliar and somewhat hostile atmosphere of Paris. The regional rulers of England continue to squabble, feud and fight. It's Viking business as usual, with spirit visions appearing, personal grudges festering, infidelity abounding, children growing, people killing and dying ... in short, all of life is here. There are many things that sets Vikings apart from other tv shows. It's not just the quality of the writing, which combines with some of the best acting on tv to make even some of the nastiest characters oddly sympathetic. It's impossible not to care about the central characters and their complex, often harsh lives, and even peripheral characters are fully written and beautifully portrayed. It's not just the great, atmospheric music from Wardruna that works so well with the exceptional cinematography. It's not just the remarkable and admirable determination of everyone involved to create a believable early medieval world, from the weapons, clothing and ships used to the smallest details like the right ingredients for making the inks and paints used in the illuminated manuscripts of the period. It's the magical combination of all these things that makes Vikings the only real competition for Game of Thrones currently in production (well, OK, maybe American Gods too). It's a series I don't want to end, and that's a real rarity these days. Review: If I had a heart - Vikings is the best show on Prime in my humble opinion. Both me and my wife love well-researched historical drama and this is among the best if, not THE best out there. Character development is excellent. Acting is superb - Nordic dialects and manner of phrasing add to the authenticity. The story, albeit slight predictable at times for those with knowledge about the historical facts, has great twists. The score is fitting. And there are spectacular battles - a particular big one in the end. But most of all the attention for detail make this series of great quality and highly immersive. Got this set for my dad who has become a big fan as well, and this DVD set combines the 2 parts and 22 episodes neatly. Without giving away too much; we see the end of a number of key characters that were vital to the show so far. All very well done in a great story line. So the next generation is taking over, I was always worried how they will hold up given the intensity of their predecessors. But so far so good.

Discs 1 and 2 were perfect.
The reason for only giving 4 stars for this Season 4 was because there was a flaw in Disc 3 ( Episodes 8,9,10). We were unable to watch properly Episodes 9 and 10. Discs 1 and 2 were perfect.

Vikings are coming and winning!
Originally when "Vikings" was on free to air TV, I was reluctant to watch it as I thought it was just violence. However, like "Game of Thrones", there is more to it than you expect. The characters in "Vikings" and the twists and turns in their sagas make this series enthralling and yes there is a lot of violence but you become so involved with the characters that the battles are an added dimension. The three main characters, Ragnar, Lagertha and Rollo develop with time and Ragnar ages believably in this series 4. Travis Fimmel is excellent as Ragnar and in series 4, he is suffering from aging and loss of status. There are many historical dimensions and also many other ancillary characters who come and go and all add to this complex saga. The photography, scenery, costumes and music make the whole series a 'must watch' again and again.
