This item did exactly what it says on the tin - and no more. The ssd attachment process with an elastic band was a little disappointing, and almost no rigidity meant it had to be handled very carefully. It would have benefited from at least a partial enclosure to improve robustness and provide a better ssd attachment system. Nevertheless, it worked well straight out of the box and, as I said, did all it promised to do. On reflection, I should have bought an item that was a bit more robust mechanically.

I bought this adapter to use with an older SSD from a laptop. It allowed me to access the SSD externally through the USB connection. I was able to get all the files off the SSD that I needed. For temporary external use with an SSD it's perfect. Not the most heavy duty build, but does the job well for light tasks.

The SSD is affixed firmly with a proper thermal pad and metal cap that is in partial contact with the aluminum outer case. I believe it should be fine in terms of thermal regulations.The PCB inside looks good, with rtl9210b chip on it.The only thing in the construction that isn't great is a hole above the LED indicator. The hole doesn't have any cover or lens on it to avoid any dust or water that may easily get inside the case after a while.3 stars because my item came in an open package and seems to be used previously.

My M.2 drive was not booting in my computer. I spent 2 days and could not get it to work. I sent for this device and put my M.2 in it and there it was, ALL of my data. I just had to copy it out to another drive. Saved my absolute bacon this has. Love it.It's really nicely packaged, and as it needs 2 small screws to hold the drive in it includes 2 spare screws just in case. Lovely touch that. There's also a spare rubber grommet to hold the drive in, and even a spare screw which you use to attach your drive into the computer. They even put a small screwdriver in too!They really have thought of everything and I would encourage you all to use the thermal pad when using the drive. They do get really hot so you will need it.

Easy to use, just plug in your SSD to the slot. Then put into the usb and you have your ssd ready to format/use how you will.

Good quality albeit the sides of the adapter are still sharp or rugged.It's also one of the few that does both SATA & NVMe (B+M key), and it allows to easily insert many sizes of SSD instead of only 2280 ones.The user manual is helpful, easily explaining how to identify many kinds of SSD drives.One point I can raise is that it's not advisable to plug any long & solid stick unattended into a computer prior to checking that nobody else walks around the room unaware.Otherwise anybody passing by and not noticing your computer might walk straight into the NVMe/NGFF adapter and break it apart. This does happen with USB drives & this adapter's shape looks similar.Anyway the USB connector is nonetheless pretty strong so it's not easy to remove it after use from a computer USB port, I prefer to use a third-party USB extender cable instead of plugging it directly.The adapter itself however has well soldered USB 3 pins.I tested both M2 SATA & NVMe and all is good, though I didn't any speed benchmarks.Final notes are: good quality, good price, as a precaution use an extender cable (there are USB 3.0 ones), and tested working well.

I've spent a few days to put this through its paces, and it is fast, high quality and great value for money.PROS: compact, lightweight, comes with thermal pad, secure tool-less SSD card compartment, built-in USB-C cable, can take various sizes of SSD card with the one enclosure.CONS: my only small grip is that the compartment lid is plastic and will not dissipate heat from the thermal pad as effectively as aluminium; no other cons, this unit is great.

I have used more sophisticated docker stations that only gave me troubles with defective cables, etc. This enclosure is simple, effective & affordable - works great! Good job!

Mi serviva un adattatore che mi permettesse di utilizzare il mio SSD m2 con installato Ubuntu tramite USB e devo dire che funziona piuttosto bene. Il pacco arriva insieme alla vitina per il fissaggio e il dissipatore che mantiene fresco l'ssd anche quando lavora a pieno carico. Ve lo consiglio.
