Inspired by the iconic original introduced in 1973 during “The Golden Age of the Bulova Chronograph,” Bulova is proud to present the Archive Re-edition of the sensational timepiece, known as the “Parking Meter.” The return of the coveted classic features the reimagined signature design of the dial configuration, resembling a classic parking meter – which gives this model its notable nickname. It is further distinguished by the unique placement of its pushers and the crown at the 6-hour. The silver-tone and slate-blue stainless steel case features a silver-white chronograph dial showcasing the parking meter and includes a calendar, tachymeter, and dual time ring. The 6H rotates the dial ring that measures a 2nd time zone. Finished with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, it also features a sporty padded top-stitched brown leather strap with buckle closure and water resistance to 100 meters. Limited to 5 ,000 individually numbered pieces worldwide, this highly sought-after timepiece is a Bulova collector’s fav

Smaller than it wears and full of character.
Very attractive yet understated colour scheme. It’s a smaller case than perhaps you’d expect from looking at stills, but it’s thick and rides quite high. Feels like it’s ready to have a go… “The Little Engine That Could”.Hands are bold and easy to pick up at a glance. Not something Bulova can always claim. The Bullhead chronograph setting is just plain cool, and actually genuinely useful in the placement. There is a rotating timing bezel ring that is controlled with a secondary crown at 6 o’clock , and a simple date function. The dial’s pattern that gives the “Parking Meter” its name is fantastic. It tells a story and draws the eye. It’s just a pleasure to ogle! The stitched brown leather strap is extremely robust and sturdy. It compliments the aesthetic of the case design beautifully. The watch balances well on the wrist but you will need a snug fit of the strap to stop it from riding. It’s very top heavy, being quite a lot of “tall” weight. The only “cons” are really down to personal taste. There is no sweeping second movement outside of the timing mode. It can be a little disconcerting. The watch is top heavy as I mentioned. You will need to wear it with a snug close fit and tighter strap step than you might be used to. Otherwise the watch tends to slide around the wrist and sit slanted. The watch looks larger than it is, and this is noticeable when wearing. It’s right on the cusp of being too small for a larger wrist, however the robust build and reassuringly weighty case is to me, more than enough to tip the balance in its favour.Watch comes with a small metal etched information plaque. Each piece is clearly numbered on the screw back case and the watch is “limited” to 5000 pieces world wide.In summary, if you like what you see, that’s about as good an indication of whether or not this watch is for you. It’s is definitely a piece you’d purchase for the novelty and aesthetic. It also happens to be built like a beast and seems absolutely rock solid and secure. I would say the build quality is top drawer. In summary. If it catches your eye, there is NOTHING about the build or quality that will disappoint. It’s a pleasure to own and more than just a collector piece. It begs to be worn and the one downer (for me) of the lack of a second hand outside of the timing function, is one that whilst eery, is soon adapted to.Many forum posts are somewhat negative in response to this watch, but they seem to concern the nature of “tribute” or “retrospective” releases in general. The fact that this exists is a treat. You will not find an original piece on the resale market. The opportunity to own an official modernised replica at an excellent price is not one to be sniffed at. The watch is definitely a conversation piece and what’s more it’s fun to wear. That’s my advice anyway. Buy it. Wear it. Enjoy! That’s why it exists. If you simply must have a collectible grade “brand new” subject in your collection, get two. It really is at a price point where that’s an option, should such things trigger you so.Love it. Great watch. Always a treat to have it in the rotation.
