Weight!
I'm 66kg and the medium spring supplied (66kg ~ 85kg) didn't work for me, I'm too light! Have ordered a soft spring now and I'll report back later.I've got the soft spring and it's on the softest setting and I find the ride still a bit hard but it's definitely working.I think the spring should be progressive rather than linear I.E it should be soft at first then get progressively harder as it goes down. So intial bumps will be soaked up easily. How have those of you managed with the medium spring I dunno!I really wanted the suntour one (parrelogram action) but it wasn't going to fit in the space between saddle & tube.

True air suspension post, not rubber block, like cheaper posts. Excellent product for the price!
Excellent seat post for the price, bought an XLC suspension seat post before only to find it wasn't a true air damper system, but a rubber block internal damper which only took the edge off the road vibration but not the hard bumps. This however has a true air damper with good travel and is adjustable.I use this on a bike that has fully adjustable rear suspension and a sprung super soft saddle, and even with all that I noticed a big difference in comfort because of this seat post.Once it had been used for a couple of days, it loosened up quite nicely and now makes my ride super smooth. Good clamping system for the saddle, and feels quite sturdy.I use this on a bike that has fully adjustable rear suspension and a sprung super soft saddle, and even with all that I noticed a big difference in comfort because of this seat.

Great value
The seat post slightly moved the seat forward because the seat mounting was more on top of the post rather than set back like my original but still had enough seat adjustment to get to reel good. Great item, makes the cycling so much easier and more comfy

works ok
I am 85kg. The supplied post worked ok with no adjustment. Would drop a star as it was not dispatched until one day after prime delivery date making it one day late but post is great so i'll let it slide. The seat runners attach with 2 bolts (only ever seen one bolt clamping before) so this was a little more fiddly.Rides well over rough ground just taking the jarring effect out of a ride.

Not as good as you might think?
So the usual good points regarding quick delivery and XLC were quick to answer a question prior to purchasing. I chose this seat post based on price and reviews. The seat post itself arrived wrapped on its own in lots of bubble wrap with a tiny piece of paper detailing the instructions and these were put inside a huge and unnecessary cardboard box!!!Installation was easy enough but despite the reviews on here I'm not sure the post itself makes the big difference that others described (unless my post is defective in some way?). I thought due to my (heavier!) weight that I would have to increase the resistance to make it work for me personally but no, it arrived pre-set at its lowest (softest) resistance but this provides hardley any noticeable suspension at all? No point in increasing the resistance as I might as well put the old normal seat post back on!!The build quality appears good but at its lowest (softest) setting it does not make any noticeable difference in comfort for me and I'm 103kg!! I would apply some caution if you weigh lighter than this and perhaps consider something else more forgiving?

Very well made unit
Good quality unit. It had the ‘up to 100kg spring’ fitted , which is ideal for my weight. Preload was set flush with base of unit. I wound it in a few turns, which stiffened it up. I think it drops about 20mm when sat on , giving a further 30mm suspension movement, this is plenty. This and new comfy seat , has made cycling and my backache at lot better.I think if you are lighter than 100kg , you would need to order a lighter spring.

and you wouldn`t believe just how tiring and painful it is
1st impressions, it`s the answer to my prayers.I have been using a normal seat post for years, I have a dodgy back, and you wouldn`t believe just how tiring and painful it is, all that jarring on your spine.I used it for the first time today, and noticed the benefit from the start, after a couple of miles I stopped and done some fine tuning, IE, adjusted the height of the saddle and backed off the spring rate to suit my weight. all seems ok now.You won`t go bounding down the road like Zebedee but it does iron out most of bumps and pot-holes.I would definitely recommend. One tiny little negative, it squeaks.
