OXO Good Grips Collapsible Straw with Case

5/5 stars I bought this for my family member for a trip and it came in handy multiple times. It's high quality, the tip is swishy and can be bent slightly while drinking. The length of the straw is adjustable as needed, it fit every cup it was used in comfortably (not too long or too short). I love that the brush is packed into the box which made it so that it could be easily cleaned anywhere every time. The brush was long enough to clean every straw piece thoroughly. I would also use the lid and body of the box to allow the straw to air dry in pieces if I didn't have a towel to dry it with. The straw came apart into 3 pieces, I would sometimes get confused in putting it back together but I'd always figure it out after a few tries. The container was a little bigger than I expected it to be, and it still easily fit in my purse. Fantastic buy that saved my family a lot of headache.

OK, I waited until I had used this OXO Collapsible Straw with Case for a while before I reviewed. Let me say that I had just a regular length stainless steel straw beforehand. I found it annoying, it was full length and barely fit into my purse, and the iced tea that I always drink with it made the stainless steel freezing cold! The top of this straw is flexible rubber, no more freezing lips! Plus you can tug it a bit towards you when drinking, because it bends. The length will telescope shorter or longer to fit any glass size I've been served with. Before I had this straw, I couldn't believe that a straw could be designed so thoughtfully! However, it is OXO, so I bought it on the strength of the name. This straw has everything you need in a portable straw and then some. It was worth paying a bit extra for this OXO straw and I love it. Now, if they just made it in purple. I'd buy another one.

I like that it comes with a adjustable silicone tip since it's more comfortable. The straw works well and does not randomly slide down in my drink as other reviews have mentioned. Easy to take apart and clean with the included brush and also easy to reassemble. I'm taking of one star because I find the case difficult to open and close. It takes a good amount of force to open and then I can feel the friction from the two pieces rubbing together. Might be a defective unit, but I wish the case worked more smoothly.

Easy to cleaning, durability and reusable

Headline pretty much sums it all but, the biggest problem is the straw staying extended when using it. The inner tube has a rubber sort of gasket that is supposed to keep the straw in place when using it, but if it gets wet, it'll slide down pretty easily. I like the idea of a portable, collapsible and reusable straw, but it does come with some issues and I suspect it's just something I have to deal with regardless of brand, so not anything OXO did wrong. I mean, let's not pretend that using a pipe cleaner style brush is ever going to be as easy as using a disposable straw. You WILL have to be diligent about cleaning this to prevent bacteria and mold growth. It does require a little effort. That said, it's not difficult by any means. It's just more work than most are probably used to. But if you're in the market for this kind of straw to begin with, chances are good that you care about the environment and are looking to reduce plastic waste and are willing to put that little bit of effort in for the greater good. So in that, this straw is great! It's expensive for a straw, but not prohibitively so and you will get repeat use out of it. It does collapse and nest within itself so by design the thickest section of the tubing may be thicker than the openings in some tumblers and mugs with lids, but it will likely fit quite a bit of drinking vessels. It is also not particularly tall, so if you've a taller container than about 8 inches, then you may need a longer straw since you'll need at least an inch or so extra sticking out the top to sip from. I do like that the tip is soft and malleable so its gentle to sip from and resistant to tooth damage. It also comes with the brush and a handy case for good portability. So all in all there's a lot to like about this straw, but it does come with a couple caveats that aren't necessarily design flaws as you can't design a straw suitable for everyone and every drinking vessel, but one SHOULD make sure they're willing to put at least minimal effort into cleaning it and take its size into consideration.

Too big! This straw does not protect your teeth. The hole you're supposed to drink out of is entirely too big for me. It seems to work great for others, but drinking out of this straw is equivalent to not using one. I have to stop the liquids with my tongue to keep them from touching my teeth while the hole is too big for me to bypass my teeth. If I place the straw past my teeth to drink, I have to pull it in front of my teeth to stop drinking therfore bathing my teeth in tea or whatever liquid I'm trying not to stain my teeth with. An item I will be throwing away. The opposite end would be the perfect end to use, but there is no silicone cover for it.

I purchased this after my area banned single-use plastic, and I hate paper straws. It's a little fiddly to set up, and the silicone tip is a little soft and collapses under suction. Still, it works, and it's much (much) better than paper straws.

ステンレス部分×2とシリコンの3分割組立式なので、全ての部分を洗えます。 ただ、スタバでクリーム盛ったドリンクを飲んだ時は、シリコン部分がが滑って縮んで短くなりましたが。油分が多い飲み物は要注意ですね。滑ったのはシリコンだけでステンレス部分は滑ることなくしっかり長さを保っていたので、大惨事にならずにすみました。アイスコーヒーやアイスティーなどの飲み物では、問題なく使えています。ケースを開けるのに少し力がいります。シリコン製と比べたら、軽くはないですが、専用ケースがあるのでしまう場所に悩まないし、ぐにゃぐにゃしないのがいいです。
