I bought the large size model as our two cats are giant bruisers - 6 and 7 kilos respectively and it was just as well as the normal size would have definitely been too small! It was easy enough to fit - I'm no DIYer but I managed to fit this ok in a wood panel garden gate. the instructions aren't the best - make sure you read carefully as I ended up drilling holes that were too large but rectified it by bolting it together with retaining nuts rather than using the supplied screws. In action it works well; I only lock it when we're away as "the boys" like to come and go at all other times. The flap has a light action and our moggies love being able to look through it. the magnet is strong enough to hold the flap in place in all but the strongest winds. I wouldn't like to say what the lifespan is likely to be but it's been outdoors in all weathers for nearly six months at the time of writing this review and other than being a bit dirty and dusty (we live on a building site at the moment) it looks and works absolutely fine. Loses a star for the instructions but absolutely fine in use - if all you want is a cheap, basic catflap then I can recommend this.

We wanted a slightly larger cat flap to install on our new solid oak internal door, allowing our cats to move freely around the house once they come in from outside. The cat flap came with a template, was easy to install, and worked like a dream. The profile of the cat flap is really slim and not bulky at the edges, making it look more seamless when fitted into the door. It's well-made and large enough for the biggest cats. I would thoroughly recommend this product and so would my cats.

I ordered this as a replacement to one I had but had got damaged by my cats over the years. It was very easy to fix but cutting it was a bit of a tricky to do. This comes with a built in "tunnel" suitable for very thick or hollow doors but can be cut to fit ordinary panelled doors and it was this I found tricky. I don't "do" DIY so don't have much more than a screwdriver and a hammer at home. I had a Stanley knife and the diagram that was with this showed someone cutting the tunnel down with such a knife but really you need a hacksaw or something. Other than that it's perfect and I would certainly buy another when this one wears out.

Really good sized cat flap. My cats have had an upgrade from the smaller version and they do seem to prefer this size. I got the grey colour this time, as the previous white one looked dirty all the time. I use this for my indoor cats to enter their outdoor catio, and I have taken the locks off as they did keep locking themselves in/out! So if you have a cat that goes outdoors, be mindful to check these regularly, they quite easily move when the cats are going in and out. It was easy to install and took about an hour.

Good quality cat flap. 4 way locking option, although I snipped off the locking tabs as it's fitted to an internal door so I could keep the door closed to keep out draughts. I have 3 Norwegians, the biggest is around 10 kilos and they can all use it with no problems. I also have a clumber spaniel and a 5 year old, neither of those can get through it. Easy to fit, all of the fittings and the cutout template are provided. I used a 38mm and a 64mm holesaw to get the radius on the corners when cutting the door. I've been thinking about replacing the existing cat flap on the external door and would buy another one of these without hesitation.

I did lock the catflap the night of Hurricane Caroline- we had gusts of over 100mph NW, the direction my front door faces, as it had blown open a couple of times. Never heard such a noise from the wind, thought the kitchen window was going to blow in. But there was no water came in the catflap, and no real draughts, surprisingly. I have another catflap the same in the inner door, I had put in first, to see what the quality was like and see if my morbidly obese ginger jeffery would fit through, and be amenable to using it? He sussed it out very quickly so I ordered another and a joiner friend fitted the 2nd one - He did put some mastick-type sealant around the outside just incase. We've had the usual Shetland winter weather - gales, lashing rain, snow off & on- no water has come in at all, and the porch hasn't been any colder really. The other smaller cat uses them no bother - it's great as I get a full night's sleep now, with no whingeing for windows to be opened to let the house freeze - saving a fortune on heating bills! Definitely recommend this catflap!

this is a great value cat flap for larger cats (or small dogs). it's magnetic strength for opening and closing, and staying shut works well. in very high winds it can blow open but this is maybe a problem more for us given the position of our house at the top of a hill. it's not bad noise-wise either. you can hear it close (which is useful to know the comings and goings of our feline friend), but it's a soft sound, not a clatter. my cat seems to have no objections!

It functions as a cat flap but the design is really stupid. This cat flap is designed to be operated from the outside. It has little plastic pegs that allow you to lock and unlock the cat flap. There are two on each side which seems unnecessary. They are oriented to be operated from outside although it can be operated from inside its clearly not designed with that intention, See photos. Its cheap and does the job but really really stupid design.

Out of all the cat doors on amazon, this is the best one. It installs very easy, and is very functional. I like hot you can lock it in either way, or both ways. The brown matched my wood door very nicely.
