KitchenCraft Living Nostalgia, Kitchen Compost Bin, Metal, 16.5cm x 24 cm, Duck Egg Blue

I love this compost bin. It sits on my worktop and has a lovely retro look. It holds a good amount of vegetable peelings skins and stalks and due to the filter in the lid does not smell before its full and emptied into the garden compost bin. As its metal it can be immersed in the washing up and thoroughly cleaned. A nice looking useful addition to the kitchen.

This is, for me, an ideal size, and it looks pretty good, too. It’s also easy to keep clean. It’s a shame that, after less than a year, the lower lip of the lid is going rusty; the rest of the bin is clearly designed to avoid this, so it’s a bit of a design oversight. If this becomes too bad, it might have to go, but, despite this, I might well buy another the same.

Bought to replace a previous one that had rusted inside a little from composting bags leaking. Perfect for me! Great for one person who eats lots of vegetables and fruit. Easy to carry to my garden compost bin. And easy to clean. I keep it under my sink and there are no odours due to the carbon filter. I’ve never experienced a problem with flies as some other customers have.

Very good price compared with shop. Has a retro look about it and well made of metal, not at all flimsy. Love the colour and very stylish. I had the cream version before this one for 10 years and only got rid of it because it had rusted inside due to seepage from bags,nothing else wrong with it.

This product used to be round and filter fitted inside whole lid. This one has a small filter and flies get inside through the vent holes ! I’ve had to superglue a piece of gauze inside the lid to stop them. Otherwise, good fitting lid, better than other compost caddys.

This is absolutely perfect! Not only does it look nice, it holds a sensible amount of waste which makes it easy to carry to the compost bin. Odour free. Great quality container. It has been a game changer

Recently my other half has been obsessed with three colours, "duck egg blue", "Charcoal Grey" and a light yellow. This has resulted in everything that we need all of a sudden becoming one of those three colours.. I was therefore very pleased when I found this compost bin in the duck egg that she seems to be obsessed with at the moment - who knows how long this trend will last! What will last, however, is this perfectly sized, sturdy - but light, ideal compost bin! Things that I noticed straight away (other than the colour which looks great next to our "duck egg" .. everything else!) were that there are two hefty looking handles. The handle that is used for carrying the bin out to your compost bin/food waste bin feels very strong and takes the weight of a full compost bin easily. The second handle is definitely needed as well due to the seal around the lid of this bin. This seal is crucial as it keeps the smell in and any fruit flies out! There is also a piece of charcoal that absorbs any bad smells in the first place which is cleverly hidden in the lid. One of the best selling points of this Compost bin is that it is the perfect size to sit on your kitchen counter. Not too big that it takes up too much space but big enough that you do not need to empty it all of the time! Very happy with this purchase and would recommend to anyone - even those not addicted to certain colour ranges! An excellent product that fits in our kitchen perfectly and fulfils all our composting needs!

Bought this product mid May with an estimated delivery date at the end of May. The delivery day kept being postponed and I couldn't even cancel this order. I finally received this product end of September. Waited 4 months for a bad product. The lid doesn't even close properly and is hard to open again. If you have some time and money to waste, then I recommend to buy this product. Otherwise just buy something cheaper with a better quality and quicker delivery date.

I'm loving the little compost container. Ours is pale shade between aqua and gray/blue, and adds a nice pop of color as it sits on the counter top next to our sink. It is a good size for us: 4 3/4" W x 6 1/2" L x 8" H (without lid) or about 8 5/8" H with lid (minus handle on lid). It is not too large to be obtrusive and when it fills we can easily empty it into our backyard compost bin. The lid is snug fitting and has so far kept smells and fruit flies at bay. I also like the fact ours came with 2 carbon filters, which fit inside the lid and cover the breathable holes in the lid.

My mom loved it for mother’s day! I do wish it was a tiny bit bigger as it filled up quickly, but other then that it is super cute and does look very nice in the kitchen.

It's absolutely gorgeous and is quite sturdy. The lid is sealed on quite well and the charcoal filter helps to keep the odor in it's place! I was quite impressed w/ the construction of it....very well made....beautiful colour. A lot of people said the lid was hard to take off....I didn't have issues w/ this. If you are an individual that doesn't have strong hands (perhaps arthritis) then perhaps you'd have an issue....I certainly didn't. I'd recommend this product and this line to anyone....SUPER AWESOME! The only thing I'll note is I wasn't expecting it to be so small -- I didn't really check out the dimensions before purchasing. I'm ok w/ the size b/c I think it should be emptied often or would be gross to empty.
