One of the best oil-based serums I've tried
I've tried dozens of oil-based serums over the past couple years, and this product from M.S Skincare is among the best ("M.S" stands for Mullein & Sparrow). Unlike many of the oil-based serums I've tried, this product is only one of two that has only a single ingredient. In this case, the ingredient is amla oil. The other product of these two is from Kembali Botanicals, which is prickly pear oil. All this said, I can't justify a five-star rating because I've tried others which have proved to be consistently more effective for me. At the time of submitting this review, it looks like 80% of 10 reviewers granted a five-star rating, and 20% a four-star rating. Of these 2, one didn't state anything negative, but the other commented that "it is pretty oily" and has "kind of a weird scent [of] which I'm not a fan". They did end up adding that an oily product made from an oil is "to be expected", but I don't think the scent is weird at all. The only reason I'm granting this product less than five stars is because I need to make use of eight or nine drops per application, similar to how much Kembali Botanicals that I need to apply in order to get decent results. My favorite oil-based serums thus far are Osmia Organics Restore and Averr Aglow Forever Radiant Essential Renewing Serum, both of which are a bit more expensive than M.S Skincare in terms of price per ounce, but I only need to apply two or three drops of Osmia Organics Restore per application. So the trade-off is cost versus performance. All of this said, I prefer M.S Skincare over a few other oil-based serums that I've tried, such as Sampar Essentials Oils In One and Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Rose Otto Nourishing Face Serum, both of which I've reviewed with three-star ratings due to the fact that these have performed very poorly for me. If you're on the fence about this product, consider purchasing from the M.S Skincare website, which is currently offering a 30% discount for first purchases. And I like the "about" page of the website, which discusses the quality of M.S. Skincare products, and the fact that these are actually made in the United States. Lastly, at a current price of $32 per bottle this product is the least expensive oil-based serum I've ever seen, incurring less risk for first time buyers.

new formula as of 10/23 is NOT pure amla oil
I used to love using this amla booster oil but the new bottles in october are much lighter in color (a pale yellow color instead of a saffron orange color) and the oil itself smells terrible and more chemical-like compared to the original bottle that smelled earthy. i ordered two more bottles, thinking i may have gotten a defective one but no, both of them are the new chemical-like impure versions! PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULATION AND OIL OR YOU WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS

A great clean and pure oil for your skin and hair.
I recently learned about Alma from my mom. She's been taking the powdered supplement to add to her morning tea to help keep her Diatbetes in check. I make sure to research products for her before she takes anything new. I was amazed by all of Alma's health and healing properties. I'm surprised I never heard of it before. So when this Alma oil showed up I was excited to try it for my skin and hair. This oil feels great on my skin. The first time applying it, I actually felt the sensation of the oil soaking into my skin, wrinkles and pores. It felt like it was hydrating my skin on the spot. The scent reminds me of something woodsy with a hint of herbal medicine. Something natural from the forest. I actually like it. I'll use it in the evenings as a plain moisturizer and also to spot treat some acne scars during the day before I apply sun screen. My skin is definitely improving. Now as for the hair, I've been adding a few drops to my rosemary oil and rubbing it into my scalp every other day. This is in addition to my Minoxidil treatment. This may take a while to notice any postive growth. But I'm hopeful considering what it's doing for my skin. This oil is also vegan and cruelty free. Formulated without GMO, parabens, dyes, bpa, phthalates, gluten and fragrance. I'm so relieved and grateful when I find a clean product. Thank you.

Delightfully hydrating
I’ve recently started adding this into my skincare routine at night, on nights where I want a boost of hydration and don’t plan on using any actives or exfoliants. After throughly washing and toning, I dry my face completely and rub and massage a few drops of this on my face throughly. After letting it sit a few and soak in, I top off with some moisturizer so that my face can throughly get some overnight healing. Let me tell you, my skin has been absolutely glowing lately! Even what zit marks I do have are not much more easily hidden behind a tiny bit of makeup. I’m positive it’s because I’ve added this to my routine.now, ithink it smells like a straight up man forest.. it has a masculine and piney smell to it.. I don’t think it’s horrible. It also dissipates. The price is just right for this product to become a holy grail!

Pale oil makes me question its purity
I love MS skincare products and have been using the Amla booster oil. But the most recent bottle i bought looks so pale and discolored compared to the original oils(the one on the right is my older bottle and the left is my most recent order). Is this normal for the oil? Not sure what i should do. I really would love to continue using their products but am concerned about purity

Great brightening effects!
I love using oils in my skincare routine and I regularly use vitamin c on my face in the morning. This was my first time hearing about Alma oil and I was excited to try it because it contains a high amount of vitamin c in it, which I love using for brightening the skin. This oil it pretty lightweight and great for using in the morning. I apply it onto clean skin and follow up with a SPF lotion. The oil comes in a glass bottle and has a dropper style dispenser. While the bottle is fairly tiny, the oily has good spreadability and you don’t need much to cover your entire face. I have found that it has helped to clear up my skin as well as make my complexion look brighter. So far I’m loving this new way of getting vitamin c in my skincare routine!
