Car: VW Polo S 2003 - Very bright headlights that produce a whiter, more pleasant coverage of light and perfect as replacements!
These were replacements for my yellow H7's headlights. I PICKED THESE OVER THE PHILIPS X-tremeVision HEADLIGHTS. ♣ Unboxing ♣ The OSRAM nightbreakers came in a box that had two halves. A very secure box indeed and a premium packet. You pull off the wrapper and unclip the two halves but be careful as the lights may drop. ♣ Build Quality & Fitting ♣ Felt just like H7 lightbulbs should and had a blue banding around the top and bottom of the bulb. Fitting these bulbs were straight forward, unscrew your previous bulbs by turning them in a direction until loosened. Pull out the bulb from the METAL part and not the glass. Pull out the wires from the previous bulb. Plug the wires into the OSRAM bulbs. Fit in the OSRAM bulbs to your headlights. It's easy but be careful and fit them securely making sure they're straight. You can FAIL your MOT if the beams are not aligned in the correct direction. ♣ Functionality ♣ These lights are incomparable to my lights I previously had. The yellowish tint I had previously is now replaced by a bright but soothing white light. They did not bring up errors on my dash and worked excellently in night conditions. It covers a wide area of light on the road and I can see a lot more ahead of me. ♣ Overall ♣ If you're looking to replace blown out or dim headlight bulbs, you should DEFINITELY go for these. The value is great for the quality of headlights you receive, OSRAM have excellent products.

Good bulbs - won't last forever!
Good upgrade to standard halogen bulbs. I live in the sticks so drive a lot on unlit country roads. You get a whiter light with greater range - exactly what I need. For those who say they don't last very long - well - they don't. They have a shorter lifespan and can't be measured in how many months they lasted but how long you use them for. The life expectancy is about 250-300 hours which is c.20% less than `normal` bulbs. So it depends how often you have your lights on. I drive with mine on all the time (including daylight) so if mine last 6-9 months I'm happy. I expect to replace them and I'm happy to trade that off for brighter light and better visibility. Also - apparently a lot of more modern cars electrics run at about 14v (it used to be nearer 13v old older cars) and that can shorten the lifespan of the bulb. You can get that checked and it may explain why your bulbs don't last long. Beware of potential imitations as well through popular auction sites. Not all are genuine (some are). I like them, they do what I want and I just have to take it on the chin that they will need replacing at least once a year.

yes a very good bulb, but i would not want to pay ...
Even though these bulbs are brighter than the standard head light bulb, I would not say they are 110% brighter. Unfortunately they do not last 110% longer either. I have had a couple of these sets of bulbs on different cars and they only last about half as long as a standard bulb. But on the whole they are brighter and make things in the hedge rows more noticeable especially if you do a lot of rural driving. I have noticed those pesky dear lingering along the roads and hedge rows earlier so the bulbs have definitely helped there. As for the price, well make sure you find a deal here on Amazon and do not get them direct from the manufacturer because you will pay nearly half, if not as much again. I managed to get them for around £15 for the pair here on Amazon but the RRP is nearer £36 on other sites. So in summery, yes a very good bulb, but i would not want to pay over £15 for them.

Great clean white light replacement for yellow headlights
Whilst other reviews on forums and websites say that these bulbs don't last / don't work, I decided to go for them anyway. At just over £10 for a set I thought if they last 6 months I'll be happy. Fitting really depends on your car. Most modern cars will have a access flap in the wheel arch to get to side lights and low beam, its great but is dirty and fiddly as you can't see what you're doing. I usually just remove the whole light cluster. Anyway, thats the fault of car manufacturers not the bulb! Once fitted (remembering not to touch the glass with your skin - i used latex gloves) the bulbs give off a strong white light which still looks oem. They are nothing like the aftermarket HID kits which you can buy, but obviously these are legal and a straight swap where HID kits need a little more work to get them legal and cost more. So far these bulbs have performed well and clocked up a fair few hours. My car has auto lights etc so they run near constantly this time of year on the murky morning commutes etc. For the money, I'd be happy if these lasted for 6 months but I have a feeling that they'll last more than that.

Nice brightness, but don't last very long.
Bought these to replace the dipped main standard halogen bulbs for a recently purchased car. The bulbs that came with the car were extremely poor. Seeing as I seem to be doing the majority of my driving during the hours of darkness, this was a bit of a major issue for me. I searched long and hard to find a bulb that was bright enough but didn't break the bank. I did think of going for an after market HID conversion kit, but decided against this as I think that HID conversion bulbs in standard headlights due to the lack of space in the engine compartment & I believe they cause a lot of glare to on coming drivers and are dangerous (unless you have a car that has a projector type lens). Anyway to cut a long story short, installed these bulbs and noticed an instant improvement over the standard halogen bulbs. One thing to be warned about are the figures Osram (and many other manufacturer) give about the improvement. Yes they are brighter (but not 110%). They are definitely whiter (but not as much as a proper Xenon/HID bulb). I have not noticed a greater 40m visible distance, more like about 20m. They are still worth getting if like me you leave home early in the morning when it is still quite dark & then leave work after sunset. ***UPDATED July 2016*** I've decided to drop these down from my original 5 star review to 3 stars. This is because over the last 28 months or so, I have now had 3 sets of these bulbs. One of the bulbs from the first set I bought fused within 3 months. The second set seemed to last longer, around 8 months before one of the bulbs fused. The third set lasted only 6 months before one of the bulbs fused. Each time a single bulb fused, I was driving around for a some time with only one working headlight bulb & were replaced when it started getting darker earlier in the evening.

Perfect!
A couple of months ago, I decided to get a pair of LED headlight bulbs for my old Audi A4 and I thought they were absolutely magnificent. They lit up the road in front of my car so brightly and it was almost like daylight in the darkness... Only, I soon found that other drivers going to opposite way to me on dark and unlit roads didn't appreciate my super-bright headlights and it was only a couple of weeks ago when I put my car through its MOT and found, to my horror, that it failed on account of these LED bulbs as they didn't really fit my car well and didn't work properly with the dipped beam. As you can imagine, I had to quickly acquire a new set of bulbs and decided after reading a few reviews to buy these OSRAM Night Breaker ones and, well, they're pretty damned good! Alas, they're not anywhere as bright as the LED ones, but they certainly do the 'dipped beam' thing correctly so I'm not blinding everyone else on the road - and when I say that they're not as bright as the ones they replaced, they're actually perfectly bright enough for me to see where I'm going, so they've been a good purchase.

A lot whiter than the osram standard bulbs by a long way. updated 6 months later
Fitted to a BMW 330 and a lot whiter than the osram standard bulbs by a long way. Compared one side by side and definitely a nicer light. Very impressed on the first drive out, a lot more light on the road and very nice light spectrum. Will be upgrading main beam too as these are nearly as nice as xenons in my opinion. Had them for 3 years in last car and these are pretty good in comparison. Will see in drive to Welsh mountains next week. Updated- 18th Sep 2016 OK, firstly both bulbs blew within 24 hours of each other which is either 'bulb love' or just strange at exactly 6 months old. Which is not good as the car is only used 3-4 times a week. But they where really good, I mean really good. The road was clearer and as most of driving is fast B roads in Wales it made a difference to have clear well lit roads as I do like to have a good vision at higher speeds. The bulbs are very good but at a cost- the longevity is poor in relation to the cost, but they are as I said bright and crisp. Would I guy again. No. Cost vs how long they last = expensive against other bulbs. I have had bulbs last 5 years+ and as an ex technician I have seen bulbs last decades. I paid for these bulbs.

I'm beginning to see the light.
I have a Fabia mk 2 which was fitted with standard bulbs. After doing a fair bit of night driving I became concerned that the headlights were a bit feeble, and so looked at upgrading. Truthfully I knew nothing about the subject so decided to do a bit of research. Obviously Amazon's customer comments were useful as was Auto Express. I decided to buy these Night Breakers after some very positive comments and have not, so far, been disappointed. They are definitely much brighter than the factory fitted bulbs and have a considerably longer throw. My understanding is that the bulbs will give in excess of 200 hours of light, which is reasonable and at £17 not too expensive. For the technophiles out there they have a luminous flux of 1500 lumens. I had them fitted by a mechanic friend late November. How long they last, I have yet to see, but if I get 12 months out of them I'll be happy as I feel they are worth the extra cost for the benefits they bring. One thing is certain, I won't go back to standard factory fit bulbs after using these.

Much better white light quality than OEM headlamps
I have used this same product for many years on various cars as they produce a much nicer bright white light compared with OEM headlamp bulbs. I used to have to order these from the UK but now Amazon AU stock them its much quicker and easier, which is great when a lamp blows. I liked how Amazon confirmed the day of delivery at time of order to I could plan to be home to receive.

Decent
These are pretty decent. they are definitely better than stock bulbs. If you are expecting a more blue or white light then you will be let down. They are brighter and and the high beam is good for distance. I was expecting a little better but am satisfied with the price.

Night Breaker
Fazit: Heller, weiter, besser, Night Breaker.
