Humane Mouse Trap No Kill Live Mice Catch Cage (2 Pack), b, s

I dont often write reviews for products unless they perform outstandingly. I recently noticed holes being chewed in stored bird feed, chinchilla food and boxed chocolate products in my garage, along with the droppings left behind on the counters we sumised this was the work of your common field mice, I got onto Amazon and found a heap of horrificly violent looking traps, after some comparison I decided to try this product as it came in a pack of 2, value for money and oportunity to catch the little critters twice as fast compared to a single trap and for the humane design, after reading the reviews I thought some of them may have acheived out of the ordinary results and being that this was my first encounter with wild mice thought I may only have one or two living the life of luxury off of my stored foods, in the first day of laying these traps with some of the chinchilla food they had already been nibbling on (put one on top of the counter where the bird food had been and one under the counter) one critter was caught in the first hour or so and a second was caught before the end of the night, we released both into a local wooded area with a small pile of treats which they ignored and hopped off into the woods, re-set the traps and left them over night hoping this was successful and issues over had another caught in the morning released on the way to work, return from work there was another one, and another 2 later that evening so within 2 and a half days we are upto a count of 6 critters successfully rehomed, didnt catch any last night but there was some poop under the counter near to the trap, cant guarantee if this wasnt already there as havent been in the garage much to hoover the last couple days but will continue to bait the traps and move them around to different locations in case they get wise but so far very suprised and please by how effective these traps have been. On initial looks I had a feeling these traps would not be very effective as we have owned lots of hamsters, degus, chinchillas etc which have had a tendancy to chew through all plastic elements to escape their plush homes to rome around our living areas but this has not been an issue and the "trap" element has functioned perfectly everytime, the release hatch at the end can be abit stiff at start but after opening and closing it a couple of times I can now open it by hand without a pen knife to slip under the lip to get it up, I would expect the trap would not be as efficient if the release door was loose enough to wiggle around, in conclusion I would highly reccomend these traps to anyone looking for a humane solution without having to spend too much.

An excellent product and a very quick service. Both my wife and I are strong animal lovers and in no way we would have contemplated in using poison to get rid off our small "furry friend". With in three hours of setting this trap, using some grinder cheese, our little friend was got and carefully was let free into a large grass field, which borders the bottom of our garden and it is used for grazing horses. We believe this must have been the one and only "unwanted little friend" because since his capture we have not seen any further proof of any other of his friends. Please note that the compartment at the rear of this trap when is fully engaged is very stiff and difficult to open, which it could be very stressful for the animal when trying to let it free, after capture. I have found out that after baiting, if the compartment was pushed down but not clicked into place it works fine and it is easy to open when you free our little friend.

It's a good idea in principle, particularly if you do not wish to kill your visitors. I don't know if my visitors were of particularly high intelligence, but they certainly visited the kitchen cupboards with alarming frequency once the traps were set, but did not venture near them, despite the tasty treats contained inside. They were easy to set, although the trap door mechanism did appear extremely sensitive, so much so that on a number of occasions, as soon as I set it down on a hard surface, the trap door would close. I was slightly concerned that the mouse would not actually get fully into the trap before the door closed on it and risk injuring it, but never had the chance to find out as they blighters didn't go in! Might work for you however. I dealt with mine by blocking their entries and exits in the end.

Bought as an alternative to death traps, after my daughter suggested; the design principle is fine, but in reality the mouse just catches it's tale in the sprung door, which resulted in my finding a dead mouse, a fair amount of blood and faeces (very distressed, I imagine) and stripped skin from half of the poor creatures tail. Not sure if this was due to the mouse pulling or chewing his tail once trapped in the door, but very few other possibilities would explain this. The simple fact is that the design is inadequately sized to catch, humanely, a European sized mouse; they are not big, but this trap is extremely small for anything other than a Shrew. If the body of the trap was 10cm longer and the spring mechanism triggered once the mouse was FULLY inside (it can't achieve that at it's current dimensions) it would be perfect. An excellent idea, poorly executed and as a result I cannot recommend this as a humane trap.

If you have a mouse at home you can use it but you have to close all the gaps where it came from. I catch one mouse with it. After three months I saw again one and this trap didn’t work. I called an agency they closed the gaps. they were coming from the ceiling, the boiler pipes. if you see one mouse definitely there are more. Or they will come again if you don’t close the gap.

Our cat has a habit of bringing in live mice and releasing them in the house, she then completely loses interest in them and they become our problem. After many instances of chasing one particularly evasive mouse around our lounge trying to trap it in a box, we had resigned ourselves to having to get a trap. We really wanted to avoid killing it so thought we would try these first. We tried it with the suggested peanut butter with no success, so started trying different treats to see if something else worked. I’d all but given up and decided the trap wasn’t working - I figured the mouse either wasn’t going in or the plate wasn’t sensitive enough to trigger. I gave it one more go, this time putting two split open grapes in, juicy side pressed against the vent holes. Within half a day we had caught our furry resident! These traps definitely work, you just have to test a few different treats in them. We’ve caught several now and grapes worked every time. I’ve also found it helpful to place it along a wall with something covering it, even if it’s just a folded piece of paper. We also pick up our cats bowls when we know we have one so they haven’t got another food option. A few of our little friends have had their tails caught in the door, but it doesn’t seem to have hurt them and as soon as you take a little pressure off the door they pull their tails through and seem fine. Really thrilled to be able to catch them and get them back out in our neighboring field looking no worse for wear!

Our cat does love to bring in small furry friends and play with them. But then she loses interest and we're left with a mouse running around the house. My usual method it trapping them with a tupperware box (a big version of trapping a spider in a glass) and my wife thinks I'm pretty ninja-like with it, but once they get behind the kitchen units I'm at a loss! We have tried the tipping-style of humane traps before and had mixed results, so I decided to try these ones. First impressions was it's quite tricky to get the end part out, and when you do the central plastic strut in it makes placing the food within it a little tricky (you could just put the food at the end of the trap pad instead, but I was following the instructions). I managed it and put in some nice strong cheddar, left the trap in the cupboard under the kitchen sink and waited. My hope being that it would sneak through the hole ni the back of the cupboard used for pipes. Within about 15 minutes I heard a click, went to investigate and sure enough the little fella was trapped! I took him outside and again found removing the end part a little awkward, but once I'd done it could just tip the mouse into a neighbouring field. I gave the trap a rinse and spray with dettol and will await the next one! Overall I'm giving it 5 stars as it does do the job very well, and I think the end part will loosen up a bit over time.

I reviewed several humane traps and these seemed to be the best in terms of actually catching mice. Ordered two and caught one mouse the very first night. Didn’t catch anything the second night but the cheese had been taken. Decided to put them at an angle by resting something underneath them. That way, the mouse had to climb into the trap to go down to get the food, which made it easier to apply pressure to close the door. I also changed the food to more of a liquid-based food - round onion chutney in the cupboard so used that. Anyway, worked a treat and caught a further 4 mice - even two in one night. Pros: - easy to use - allow the mouse to breath and plenty of room to move around - secure so mouse can’t escape - doesn’t require much pressure to close the trap door - well priced Cons: - quite difficult to thoroughly clean (remove poo and food) but that’s probably the case for most of these traps to be honest All in all I think these are great and would recommend them to anyone. Just hope that’s the end of my mouse troubles!!

Entro un ratoncito de campo en la despensa y no quería matarlo. Estás trampas funcionaron a la perfección, las coloque con un trocito de queso y en 30 min el ratoncillo ya había caído en la trampa. Estuve atenta porque le engancho la cola fuera, ya imaginaba que podía pasar eso y no quería que se lastimara. Lo lleve la campo y lo dejamos libre.

I ordered two on Thursday. They came on Friday. Caught the mouse Saturday morning. Brilliant. I didn't realise that there are two in a pack. Great value for money. They are strong, look good, easy to use and the mouse was freed without harm. Top job. I'd give this 6 stars.

Did not work. Used with peanut butter for 10days; mouse did not go in. Was a small mouse. Had to buy a bigger trap and had left all on; fell/trapped in the bigger trap not this one
