Proster Compass Waterproof Navigation Compass Metal Sighting Compass

I am ex-army & have used a number of different compasses but I was impressed by the quality of this compass for the price. The only fault was how loose the bezel was, it would be easy to accidentally move it after setting the compass. I would have given it 5 stars if it had some way of securing the bezel after setting but apart from that, it is sturdily made with decent luminosity.

I think this compass is quite well made for the price and useable to some extent.I did not like the loose lid with siting line did not retain its position. As others have noted the one sent to me had badly out if balance compass card that stuck on the capsule base when compass was levelled, giving inaccurate readings. Also found reference markings out of line with compass card centre and bezel too loose to be useful.

Very good value, I like the alumium casing and the compass seems well damped and settles immediately. If there was one recommendation it would be to make the rotating bezel tighter as it's a bit loose for my liking. But I'm going to use for initial North alignment of telescope for astronomy and for that is ideal, will obviously need to allow for true North offset

Bought this for my seven year old, instead of kids ones. He is over the moon with it. Seems to be really good quality and the price is fantastic.

Its superb, does the job well , but is easily distracted by any metal objects near . I think it is well worth the money and would recommend it to anyone.

handy to chek bearings and have some fun when checking alimnet of local monumnets. it is hevey and most likley to out live its owner
